Is this really a Catalino cartoon? He’s usually one of the compassion-free. Good on him for calling it like it is. The latest Gallup poll shows Republicans less popular now than they’ve been in fifty years, even more unpopular than during the Clinton impeachment and the end of Bush’s disastrous presidency. Let’s hope the American people keep that rage through the elections and show them that America does not reward anti-democratic, unconstitutional extortion.

Heh ARod – It’s real easy to be compassionate with someone else’s money. That’s the problem with the lib position. They want to congratulate themselves on how compassionate they are and how sensitive they are to the suffering of others. But they reach into the pockets of the producers or future producers with all their borrowing to show that compassion.

In addition to paying confiscatory taxes to support people who sneer at our mid-western values; My family and many of our friends and colleagues do a lot to support our own communities through: Charitable giving, working with the unfortunate, and building infrastructure at home so that we can grow a stronger community.

We resent that a lot of our money is being siphoned off to big cities where it is squandered on graft and corruption because the Federal government doesn’t police it’s payments very well.
When the money is spent locally we (the whole community) can watch how it is spent and make sure it is being done right.

You’re not compassionate for taking from others to give to the needy.

As a card-carrying, voting Republican, I HATE what the tea party is doing to my party. They will have completely destroyed it by the 2016 elections. Then it will be revealed that they were a “plumbers unit” of the Democrat party. If Nixon were still alive, he would recognize their dirty tricks and be proud of them.

“There are a lot of things that are going to affect our economy,” said Representative Paul Broun, Republican of Georgia. “The greatest threat right now is Obamacare.”

Has Broun visited Massachusetts to see how Romney Obama Care has been working since 2006? If not, why not? Why not base a fella’s comments on actual experience? Yeah, would the TeaWees let Broun visit a State of Mind other than his own?

Good Grief!! Actual data from a very respected source that is neither liberal nor conservative. How on earth are the ultra conservatives such as HOWGOZIT going to handle that??

“there’s nothing ‘compassionate’ about giving other people’s money. That’s called theft.”

Agreed, to a point. Many people call that taxation. And where do you draw the line? I personally see no value in going to war in the middle east. I see nothing gained, even if we “win”, however we measure that. My tax dollars feed the war machine. Do I call that “theft”?
Our state’s Attorney General took Obamacare to the Supreme Court. He didn’t have to: lots of other entities did the same thing. But he and the other attorneys in his office spent literally years and we’ll never know how many millions to bring a case that was no different, with no different result, from any others. This, in some people’s opinions, would be “theft”.

There is no doubt that our tax dollars are spent inefficiently and unwisely. The definitions of which expenditures are “wise” will vary from person to person.

For my part, I’d rather help keep my countrymen healthy. A healthy populace is more productive and less dependent than a sick populace. I prefer to spend money on improving life, rather than taking it, yet our country seems hell-bent on spending every possible cent on war, with nothing left over to benefit our society. Is this “theft”?

Ken, another “thank you”. I’ve long disagreed with many of your “statements”, but this one shows that even “conservatives” are truly awakening to the reality of what the TEA party has BECOME, not necessarily what it started out to be with early supporters, many of whom have also become disgusted, and ended their affiliation.
