righttt it has nothing to do with the fact that oil is traded in the USA dollar and Obama has done wonders to devalue our dollar on a world scale. Obama went so far as to lose our rating. Then there is the FACT obama has done everything he can to fight the demon CO2 in the USA. Then add into the Mix that Obama is the most incompetent President in the USA when it comes with dealing with the Middle East. And one wonders why we are not at Obama’s dream of 5$ a gallon gas. He told us that is what he thinks it needs to be before he was elected and it would be for our own good.
Hey Obama how are those magic green jobs of yours you said would save Detroit?

Baloney! The world price of oil is set by factors far larger than Obama. The far greater devaluation of the American dollar happened before Obama from decades of deficit spending and Bush’s idiot economy destroying policies. In fact the dollar has strengthened lately, which is why gold has recently declined.

You have to feel sorry for the oil companies: it’s such a delicate balance. If you charge too little, your profits can decline into the millions per quarter rather than billions. If you charge too much, the peasants will scream for a development of alternative energy, and someone else might get your business. No wonder the executives of those companies are so well-compensated: it’s high pressure and high stakes.

The Energy Department says that the green-jobs program is still on track to meet its employment goals. It claims credit for saving 33,000 jobs at Ford Motor Co. — about half of the Detroit automaker’s entire hourly and salaried U.S. workforce. The department says the biggest of its loan guarantees, for $5.9 billion, protected the jobs at Ford by enabling the automaker to upgrade plants in five states to build more energy-efficient vehicles. The Energy Department said the loan would “convert” the Ford jobs to “green manufacturing jobs.”
yeh, that worked real well.. not

As to Socialists, I have already proposed that social Security, public roads, fire and police departments and armed forces be done away with. Those Socialist programs are killing us.

You should be asking that question to the Organized Crim…. er, to the union bosses that are a major factor on what has happened in Motor City! "
Is that why Obama bought the GM Union? he should have let it go into Chapter 11 and then they could have rebuilt with out Union guarantees. How much stock do we the taxpayer own and how much money was lost on that deal.
Again that was Obama’s Union pay off.
then there was our tax for your clunker ideal. That burned through what 3 billion and did NOTHING to save or create jobs nor did NOTHING to save mommy earth from the evil that is man.

While the futures market, and the airline industry losing their stranglehold on a large portion of it that kept their costs of jet fuel down, did, and does, have some influence. The simple fact is that world-wide, the ’toon is absolutely correct. It IS the folks at “big oil” that determine petroleum prices on a daily basis. It IS a “corporate monopoly” controlled by an international cartel, primarily run by U.S. “registered” corporations.
