I would very much appreciate it if you would let me decide who and what I hate, rather than having you decide for me. I can only speak for myself, but I have a feeling others feel similarly. Thank you, in advance, for your consideration.

The scandals are not limited to the Catholic church. The biggest difference is that others have not tried to cover for the offenders. (The Boy Scouts have though.)

Don’t forget the BBC in England.

It would be a pleasant change to see and hear people address criticism instead of immediately attacking the speaker. Issues must be addressed, not buried.

No matter the cartoon, no matter the comment, ScottPM feels the hate.
It simply is not there. OK it is there, but on the inside looking out.
Saying “get help” is not going to help.
Gonna have to skip the comments with your tag on them if the church is even hinted at in the toon.

    “The liberals hate Cathloics”

that’s where you conservatives really miss the boat. you make broad, generalizations that insult wide swaths of people for a political straw horse.

I am not a liberal, but I know that liberals do not HATE catholics. I know a lot of liberal catholics.

The issue is with the catholic church, who even you must admit, if were not HIDING behind the shield of religion, would be considered a criminal organization for its BEHAVIOUR.

if they BEHAVED with out the criminal intent, perhaps people, both liberal and conservative, would NOT have a problem with the CHURCH.

yours is the basis for the same kind of notion that an OUT gay man, or an individual woman who is outspoken about birth control, is somehow anti-Catholic.

If you wanted to defend what is good & decent about the Catholic Church, you’d be talking about the nuns who seem to embody the ideology of Jesus. Instead you defend the authority of a corrupt & often criminal (IMA PEDOPHILE, HOWGOZIT BANKING SCANDAL) male hierarchy.

PS, if you think there were wolves eating babies abandoned on the streets of Rome after the 0 CE, you are delusional. Rats maybe, wolves no. I suggest you look at that story as apocryphal.

“What a load of garbage. You should be locked into a room with a comprehensive, 100,000 page compendium of all the good works that the Catholic Church has done throughout the ages, starting with going out at night in Rome to rescue unwanted newborn babies from being devoured by wolves. You should not be allowed out until you have read every single good work that the Church has done over the centuries. Perhaps then you might realize that a few rotten apples in the barrel does not mean that the whole barrel is rotten.”

sadly what i said is factual. Unfortunately I have often seen organizations and people do some pretty horrible things hiding behind the surface of “charity”. I usually find the more they flaunt their charity, the more horrible things they have to hide.

I like the jewish definition of charity. If you tell anyone about it, especially the recipient, it is not charity. Charity MUST be anonymous. If you don’t know or understand why, i have some talmud for you to read.

Now I’m confused. being a Protestant, I’m not all that well versed as to what Catholicism believes. But I do believe I’m correct in saying “all priests are celibate” (Someone correct me if i’m wrong here)
Now if a priest is celibate, how can you call him gay or straight? He is asexual. He does not participate. If he did participate, he would not be celibate. Since Scripture calls homosexuality an abomination, then how can a practicing homosexual be a priest? I am really confused.
Being tempted is not a sin. giving into the temptation is the sin.
