I guess it all comes down to this: Do you want the government to confiscate as much wealth as possible and use it to fund artificial jobs that will only last until there are no more tax payers to loot? Or do you want to liberate businesses and entrepreneurs from crushing taxes and regulations so that they can produce the goods and services that we all want and are willing to consume.

Obama has shown that his answer to every problem in society is to take money from those filthy rich people who don’t deserve their earnings and redistribute it to those more deserving people (Democratic voters) as a means to buy votes.

Jobs will come back as soon as investors and businesses feel confident that they will be allowed to keep the fruits of their labor and not have it looted away by an out of control government with an insatiable appetite for hard earned income.

@Clark – Sending those jobs overseas made the goods and services you and I purchase more affordable so it not only raised the standard of living in 3rd world countries but in our country as well.

Welcome to a global economy. If your skills, knowledge and productivity are no better then those “slaves” in other countries then you aren’t going to make any more then they do.

But for many of us, globalization has been a godsend. We have developed skills that allow us to compete and thrive in this economy and are doing quite well. By shipping those jobs overseas they are also producing Consumers overseas that buy: Airline tickets (Jets), Cars (Construction Equipment), Hospital services (Medical supplies) and a host of other goods that require things produced here in America and sold overseas.

A good education is still a good buy in this country and if you and the rest of your doomsayer friends would apply yourself to developing new skills you would be amazed at how many opportunities are out there for people with the courage and the work ethic to reach form them.

Let’s not forget that president Obama saved thousands of jobs by saving GM and if it weren’t for the republicans and republican owned businesses deliberately sitting on their obscene profits and not hiring in order to make OUR President look bad that unemployment would be about 3% or so.

Heaven forbid that any business hire anyone now because that would make Obama look good. Remember that Mitch said we must make Obama fail at all costs.

My impression was that a union was a union of workers. How do you save the union without saving the workers in the union?

The difference is that Obama is actually creating jobs. When romney was gov, massachusetts went from 36th to 47th in job creation. If you think job numbers suck now, just wait and see what romney will do.

Unions employees took it in the shorts at GM, and in efforts to save other corporations, and the CEO’s and boards just took what they gave, and put it in their own pockets. The Limbot b.S. has grown old indeed!

@indieme – Mr. Romney is for anyone who can be successful without the government propping them out. Not just billionaires. The concept isn’t simple but you certainly are.

What other corporations did GM save?

Ima, I’ve noticed that you’re a person with strong opinions — nothing wrong with that — but you don’t often support your opinions with arguments. Where I come from, an unsupported opinion just blows away in the wind.

Exxon getting BILLIONS in taxpayer money, GE getting billions, both paying no taxes. I want to be independently propped up like that too.

For a while, I worked in the tax department of a major corporation. That “getting taxpayer money” that you are talking about is based on corporations applying for tax deductions and credits that the government created. It is no different then you getting a deduction for your home mortgage or a deduction for medical requirements. There are many who would argue that corporations shouldn’t be paying taxes, it should be the investors that own the corporations.
