    I’m now renaming your allowance to “performance pay”.

    I wonder if JoJo knows what “snafu” really means?
    (Situation Normal, All Fouled Up – and yes, I know the word is not “fouled”. This is a family strip.)

    Sorry, JoJo. You only get paid for doing nothing if you’re in Congress.

    @Potrzebie

    When I was about six or seven (1950-ish) my parents paid me 3 cents to make my bed, 1 cent for emptying the ash tray, etc. If I did all of my chores every day, I could earn 98 cents, and my dad would give me a dollar. A lot of money for a little at that time. I seldom made it past 50 cents, unfortunately.

    Actually, that’s the original version. Someone who’s “fouled” in the mouth and/or brain came up with the profane phrasing.

    Do you spend your waking hours talking to imaginary people? That explains your monicker, I guess….

    All depends if his allowance is tied in to his chores. Mine wasn’t. But it was low enough that there were somethings I wanted that cost two weeks allowance. I had to understand saving for a future benefit. Unless I wanted it now. Then I learned bargaining. Which would include chores.
