Packed with humor and heart, JumpStart is a modern comic strip with a classic feel. At the core of the JumpStart family is Joe Cobb, a big-city cop, and his wife, Marcy, a nurse in a bustling Philadelphia hospital. Their jobs are easy compared to the challenge of raising four kids. At the end of the day, Joe and Marcy want what we all want: a good night's sleep. Their oldest, Sunny, is an avid reader who can answer your questions before you have time to do a Google search. Her brother, Jojo (aka Joseph Cobb, Jr.), has aspirations of being president. In fact, he already is president — of his second-grade class. Joe and Marcy's newest surprise additions are the twins, Tommi and Teddy. This talkative pair began conversing in the womb and are still going strong. Imagine what they'll say when they actually learn to speak! Rounding out the cast is Crunchy, a grouchy but warm-hearted police officer who is Joe's partner, and a host of extended family members and friends. You'll enjoy the wit and wisdom of this colorful, unpredictable cast, which includes the antics of in-laws, co-workers, a 6-year-old doctor, and a texting dog named Snoog-A-Boo.

With all the good stuff verboten, that leaves only – Gasp! – veggies. Shudder.

The only time I “go on a fast” is when I’m too sick to eat.

I’m on the seafood diet…
I see food, and I eat it.

If it can’t outrun me, it’s food…

I’m on a “shock” diet for the next 2 weeks. No meat, white flour, white rice, white potatoes. Skim milk and 0% fat yogurt only, egg whites, brown rice, beans, oatmeal, fruits and veggies only. I want my meat and sugar!! I know fruits and vegetables are sweet, but I really want the ‘forbidden’ items to balance the sweetness of all the rest of the food.

@Dragon0131
Being electrocuted would be less of a shock to me.

Food sensitivies have whittled my allowables down to just pork, egg yolks, corn, rice, veggies (except potatoes or soy products) and a few fruits (can’t have cherries, pineapple, bananas, peaches, apricots, pears). I get by with having some things that don’t seem to bother me too much, like cheese and the occasional egg or ground turkey.

I have the perfect diet for folks….eat less and exercise more. Now, how do you suppose I could turn that into about 15 chapters to publish so I can make a mint?

@Dr Lou
Such a ludicrous concept will never sell. :)

Lol… That’s one thing most people like to lose PERMANENTLY.

That soy business is a bummer, isn’t it? Amazing what it’s found in! I like sushi so much that sometimes I just go ahead and drip some soy sauce on a California roll or something (trying to avoid sushi with seafood, which is also problematic), lay some pickled ginger atop, and moosh it in a little wasabi. Mm. May pay for it later.
