Wouldn’t surprise me anymore if they did that.

There is now actually a device that allows people to accept debit/credit cards on a smart phone.

And thanks to ‘pay as you go’ plans and refurbished phones being donated, having homeless with smartphones isn’t actually that crazy (or that insulting). And if he has a PayPal account, can even take cards that way.

Well, that just hit the nail on the head….begging for money from someone else, yet will buy a smartphone. We’re doomed.

If you’re looking for a job, having a phone is imperative – especially if you don’t have a home address.

Some people fall very far very fast. Have a house and SUV and iphone the next they are on the street.

All you need is Square. My sister-in-law started using it at craft shows and has been selling about three times as much stuff if not more because she can now take cards.

I did see a homeless person once who had a smartphone. I still gave him money, I figure if you’re at a point where you’d spend time on the street begging for money (probably not getting that much out of all that time spent begging), your situation must be pretty bad no matter how you look at it. Either way, it’s not like you’re losing your life savings to them.
