Why not? And hold onto your hats, I do not think it was a big deal that Obama went over there and tried but failed to get it to go to his home town. I question his personal motives but it did not work out. Still he tried to get something that could have been great for our country, so be it.
I hope you shine Rio!

Good Luck Rio:
But like with New Deli, You had better get your ducks in a row and get busy, or you will have a massive mess on your hands. 7 Yrs is not that much time to covert a city.

Beach volleyball may actually get interesting! Good to see our southern neighbors have a chance at the world stage, actually. But having the “summer” games in their winter season is kinda’ interesting too.

Parabéns aos Cariocas*. ;-)
It’s going to be some party!
I was born in winter, sometime in June and I’m always amused by the surprise shown by northerners that the world doesn’t only revolve in their hemisphere.
Btw, folks from Rio are called Cariocas. *

I don’t get what the big deal is with these games. As far as I’m concerned everyone is crooked when it comes to the games. From the judges, I.O.C. members, to the athletes, someone always does something stupid to disgrace their country.
Make a google search on Olympic Games Scandals
