A system that doesn’t work for a threat that doesn’t exist should be unfunded.

Sherrfiius, you are becoming one of my favorites! Obama doesn’t want to feed the “military/industrial complex” breed that Eisenhower warned of so long ago./ (And we’ve never stopped feeding since.)

I’m not going to pretend to have an informed position, since I have not researched the specifics involved.
Whether this was, or was not, a good and sound missile defense plan, is thus unknown to me.
The fact Obama defunded it makes me think it probably WAS, but again–I’m not taking a position on this.

Politically, for Czech and Polish independence and Democracy, I would say they have been screwed. Militarily, my guess is it will have no effect. And Poles and Czechs were probably going to get it free from us as far as finances are concerned. All in all. I think Obama did right; because politically we’ll probably “award” our new friends some other way…But these are all guesses on my part.

He has always been one of your favorites BCS along with Danziger, Lowe, Morin, Sack, etal from the left.

Howie, how about commenting on the ‘toons instead of using this as a platform to insult those who have a different POV than you?
BTW, Sherffius is one of my favorites too because of the economy of presentation to get his point across.

Point is made quite well. We hav a better system with the navy. Of course it doesn’t have the “Star Wars” romance, but it is cheaper & more efficient. Ronald Reagan proposed it in the 80’s, this is 20 years leater, I hope our defense technology has advanced in that time. We need this to protect Europe. not Ronald Reagan’s legacy.

I could have guessed it fennec. Where was the insult., she always slams the likes of Ramirez, Asay, Benson while lauding those depicted above. No insult intended. Quit looking to comment with your bias fennec.

political, global expedience,

oh Howie, read John Deerings latest toon about what it takes to be a really good editorial cartoonist. Ramirez especially does not have it. And like Fennec, I admire Sherffiius’ ability to create compelling toons with simplicity. Look back at his work, he’s done numerous examples lately.
And you’re wrong about Benson (I assume you mean Lisa, not Steve). I sometimes like her toons.
And you know what Howie, when I disagree with a toon’s POV or its presentation, I say why. That’s called participating in a dialogue.
Nonetheless, I wasn’t insulted because you take those digs at me a lot, so used to it. I hope others at least read my explanation given.

Mr. Sherffius, you are simply great.

parker is really tripping today on the poetry.
(Note I didn’t say it was any good….)

parkerinthehouse, I appreciate your dropping in a verse or two here or there. Cool!

Thanks BCS–I appreciate your taking the time to “rebut.” But I have often said Ramirez drawings are the best if even you don’t agree with the satire. I don’t feel most of the cartoonists mislead through lies but are providing satire and perhaps some humor. You are probably the only one with opposing views I actually do respect on this site. Most the others are just spiteful.

Howie, thanks, I’ll accept that compliment. What you just said is a good reason why I spend (too) much time finding links to sources and trying to make sure I’m getting the facts straight before I post. (Though I am by no means perfect at it.)
But may I suggest that sometimes when you post on a toon that you explain your reasons for liking, disliking, agreement, disagreement. It will helps to have a dialogue that way.
