   Sherffius’s exceptions to American safety mostly have nothing whatever to do with our being safe. A collection of nonsequiturs incandescently stupid even by Sherffius’s standards.

   As to johnking, he can’t be a total idiot as he is one of the few who can spell and use proper grammar, but the degradation to our environment, the loss of credibility world-wide, the assistance to terrorist recruitment by use of torture, extraordinary rendition, etc, the decimation of the economy due to ignoring at the least and encouraging at the most of corporate fraud, the fall of the middle class, and the loss of constitutional protections and good governance… All this does make us less safe. A crumbling country is not a safer country. So Sherffius is not incandescently stupid, but you sir, are channelling Cheney.

   Exactly. I fell a whole lot LESS safe right now than I did 8 years ago. How safe is a nearly-destroyed economy? Highest unemployment in years? Nearly everyone I know is/has been laid off in the last year. A world full of neighbors who either hate us or look askance at us? This idiot has been an unmitigated disaster. And no, I did not vote for him either time–I saw him for what he was; the last eight years answered my question to myself: which one is Tweedle Dumb and Tweedle Dumber.
