Hmmmm….maybe because since the dawn of the concept of god and religion, most of the murder, mayhem, and subjugation of fact, truth, and reason have been caused by those very symbols that poor dove is striving to carry. Don’t you see it?

Trogon, try to look at it from the point of view of a Friend (Quaker) and you may see it in a better light.

In a broader, more general view of religions today, their function within the governments they serve comes clearer, i.e., they keep their flock (sheep) in line through terroristic threats (read what happens to non-believers) and if they don’t, their tax free life of luxury will vanish in short order.
Having them all accept each the other is the ‘first best step’ to a clarity of vision that will allow practitioners to see through the wasteful folly of lives obfuscated by egomaniacal superstitions best abandoned by Humankind and can culminate in the finding of the Richness of reality’s Garden of Eden!
But, what the hell do I know, I’m a high school dropout anyway!
