    Somebody’s last hope, yes disturbing, sad and not really news; it’s a common every day occurence.

    The lottery is a tax on people who are bad at math.

    And, you have the same chance to win, whether you play or not.

    Gotta disagree, braindead. If you don’t buy at least one ticket, you have a slim to next to no chance to win. If you don’t buy any tickets, you have absolutely no chance to win.

    Once, Bernie fasted, flagellated himself, and went to church every day (twice on Sundays and Wednesdays) and prayed, ‘God, please, please, please let me win the lottery.’

    Finally, God sent an Angel to Bernie who told him, ‘Bernie, you gotta meet the Lord half-way. You at least gotta buy a ticket.’

    Sad, but true. There is a chance of winning, but you’re more likely to be shot by a relative. Most of the people who play the lottery, are the ones who can least afford it.

    @mikefive

    Gosh, mikefive, you are correct, as usual. My source was Fran Lebowitz.

    You do realize that my exaggeration was exactly the same amount as your chance of winning?

    Tough crowd.
