“The government moves in mysterious ways.” And being honest about the intent or motivation behind that movement? Fugedaboudit.

We need to drastically reduce spending on our bloated out of control military industrial congressional complex. Programs that actually help We The People should be fully funded.
Haul the thieves of wall street and the bank CEO’s into court to be tried for their massive financial crimes.
Restore the Glass Steagall act with sharp teeth.
Restore the tax on stock transactions.
Restore the 75% tax rates on the rich from the 1960’s.
Restore the estate tax which only hit the megarich.
Declare the republican party illegal and unconstitutional.
We need a Socialist party to the left of the Democratic party.
And yes I know I sound like a tape loop but unfortunately it
is necessary to keep repeating it.

@Clark Kent
There is a party left of the Democratic Party. They’re called the Socialist Workers Party and they received approximately 0.003% of the vote in the last election.

Reduce spending? Let’s increase spending but put the money where it’s needed. Past time to rebuild our own nation while putting people back to work. Working towards the common good benefits all.

We don’t “have to drastically reduce” spending. Only people who believe in silly things like the gold standard don’t understand this extremely simple concept.

I agree with most of the things you wrote. We here in Germany have a socialist party to the left of the social-democratic party. It is a remnant of the communist/socialist party of eastern Germany. They make a lot of waves but don’t get a lot done (they are at 10-15%), everybody still remembers the “German Democratic Republic”. Still, they add color and discussion to the political process, and if the social-democratic party would move too far to the right you could always join the PDS instead, so they act like a safety-valve and a warning…

Yes, Clark you are a fine example of the tolerant liberal mindset. The “big tent” party that accepts one and all under the big top.
Why don’t we just shoot all the republicans?

Then we will have a Communist Nation
I vote we increase your taxes to 95%
Remember this, we were fine until the Democrats officially took control of The House and Senate on the 1st Monday of January 2007 and held that power until December 31, 2010.
During this time frame, neither Nancy Pelosi or Harry Reid passed a Budget, no, they just ‘Kicked the Can’ down the road. To keep the Government Running during this Time Span, they kept raising the Debt Ceiling
The Democrats need to step back and taste their own medicine. The Democrats tell us it will take longer than 4 years to clean up the mess left by Bush. Same ruel applies, it will take longer than one year for The Republicans to recover from 4 years of The Government not having a Budget.
Remember this: In Late December 2010, it was the Democrat Controlled House and Senate that voted to Extend the Bush Tax Cuts for only the Top 1%, and it was President Obama who failed to Veto this Stupid Bill.
In late December 2010, when Obama inked the Bush Income Tax for only the Rich Bill, he took ownership of The Tax Cuts for only the Top1%, The day he inked this stupid bill, the became The Obama Tax Cuts for Only the Top 1%.
Yes,my Liberal Friends, this is true, and I will prove it to you.
You go to any Auto Dealership, Pay Cash for a Good ‘Experienced’ Vehicle, the second you sign the Contract, The Vehicle no longer belongs to the Dealer, the Vehicle Belongs to you.
This rule also applies to Obama when he inked the Bill extending the Bush Tax Cuts for only the Top 1%.
Careful, now, because since 2001, you have been moaning Bush gave Tax Cuts to only the Top 1% and no one else. Obama hammered this point home when he ran for President in 2008, he made the following Comment on every Campaign Stop and in every Debate:
“Bush gave Tax Cuts to only the Top 1% and Now One Else.”

Canada has a similar system: Liberals, Conservatives, and a strong socialist party. No one wants the latter to ever be the government, but they often hold the balance of power in Parliament and act as the conscience of the government, looking out for the little guy. An arrangement that most folk agree with.

I’ve said it before and will again: unlike the taxocrats in power, whose end goals are identical to Clark Kent’s, Clark speaks plainly while Lord Obama and Friends have to sneak it in under the radar.

Military spending needs a huge reduction.
cdward said, 5 months ago
It wouldn’t be too difficult to balance the budget if the powerful actually wanted it. For starters, Reduce military spending significantly since we spend more in that department than anyone else. Then tax the rich 50%-75%. Then invest in infrastructure so we can compete with all the nations that are doing it already. Otherwise, we’re going to look very decrepit very soon.
