As a gun owner, I have no love for the NRA, but when the discussion of posting who has either weapons or concealed permits came up in our state, I had to go with NOT making the list public (even though it IS a public record) as it would make it too easy for thieves to pick their targets. Also in the case at hand, two named were retired police officers who had arrested many people, and with unlisted phone numbers etc, didn’t really need their names and addresses being made so public.
