Joe Vanilla is your average, ordinary, regular guy -- working in today’s corporate setting, dealing with life’s little hardships and inconveniences and celebrating its achievements. He faces silly office politics, administrivia, confusing technology, iPods, ATMS, facebook, fumbled interpersonal relationships, and other pushes and pulls of contemporary life. Joe is our everyday protagonist. Relevant. Quick witted. Playful. Ironic and timely.

Those pick up scenes were always awkward! (Not that I know that first hand mind you!)

I’ve got to get away from the bar jokes. I’ll get a reputation.

You say that like it’s a bad thing.

If he were falling off the barstool while making
his pitch, the “clumsy approach” would have had
more impact. However, from oxymoronic, & para-
doxical standpoints, it holds up quite well. Avoid-
ing bar quips is wise, as it will give you something
to crow (“bar”) about.

Nice. I appreciate your perspective. That would have strengthened the cartoon. Thanks.
