Joe Vanilla is your average, ordinary, regular guy -- working in today’s corporate setting, dealing with life’s little hardships and inconveniences and celebrating its achievements. He faces silly office politics, administrivia, confusing technology, iPods, ATMS, facebook, fumbled interpersonal relationships, and other pushes and pulls of contemporary life. Joe is our everyday protagonist. Relevant. Quick witted. Playful. Ironic and timely.

I was going for a play on, “Save room for cream?” Or, “Do you want whipped cream?” It comes up short but I like the drawing.

No, no, I get it. I totally get it. See, he *IS* burned out, but he’s saying it’s not burnout. He’s manifesting all of the symptoms of burnout, but he’s in denial. C’mon, people. Get in the game.

Todd, The panel this morning was two people in a coffee shop: “Grande mocha latte” was the first line & “Save room for hip” was the second. Made no sense. That panel was pulled & replaced with what you see. All comments up to yours was as playing a different game.

I switched to the burned out cartoon because the first one didn’t work. Sorry for the confusion. AddADad was right.

Wait.
“Save room for hip”? What does that even mean?! Well, I’m sorry, but I don’t get that at all. Thank goodness that cartoon was pulled before I saw it. That is just a downright non sequitur, and that kind of verbal anarchy is all fine and good for Zippy the Pinhead, but not for Joe Vanilla, no sir.
“Save room for hip,” indeed. Kuh.

Thank you. I’m glad you didn’t see the first one. As you can surmise, it just didn’t work.
