He was quoting a Wikipedia article about a science fiction movie called Gattaca and claimed it was his own words.

Where do you think wikipedia took it from

Wikipedia: “In the not-too-distant future, liberal eugenics is common and DNA plays the primary role in determining social class.”

    IMDb
In “the not-too-distant” future, where genetic engineering of humans is common and DNA plays the primary role in determining social class,

When the Left Libs push Wikipedia is a real source… the Newspeak is just starting…

The media is encouraging a battle between Paul, Cruz, Christie, Clinton, and Biden. Super PACs, under the permissions given by Citizen’s United and the SCOTUS, will empower these folks in their efforts to run.
In the meantime, really good people with vision, ideas, and lacking the baggage of the aforementioned five candidates will watch with the rest of us from the sidelines while candidates pick their voters instead of voters picking candidates.
    Tiredly,

I would venture to guess that “we conservatives” are not all that much different from “you liberals”—excuse me, “libtards”.

Some conservatives do hate people, believe it or not. And your term “libtards” does not help support your premise that conservatives don’t hate.

Some liberals do not fear conservatives. They (and I) may fear the results of plans that conservatives want to put into place, but we don’t necessarily fear the people who want to put them there.

I would strongly caution you not to assume that everyone who believes differently than you do is exactly the same in every respect. That kind of assumption will only play into the us-vs.-them mentality that has caused, and continues, our current gridlock.

Wow. Let’s look at the evidence here, shall we?
Radish cited a fact: that Rand was quoting a line found in Wikipedia, and nothing else.
Gresch insulted liberals by identifying them with 1984
DebtFree insulted liberals by claiming they “hate others” for no reason
skipcarlson insulted liberals by calling them “libtards” and by saying they should visit their psychiatrists for “conservaphobia.”
    Meanwhile,
Respectful Troll and I Play One on TV both tried to engage politely.
Dear conservatives: let’s tone it down a bit and maybe you can have a conversation, eh?

IMO, the hard-core conservatives are unable to see alternate points of view, even when presented with empirical facts, because they are hard-wired genetically to the most basic tribal patterns of xenophobic, territorial, religious, and social behavior. They can’t change their mind because they don’t have one.
    .
There are plenty of conservative values that have merit, and real-world solutions require a blend of those ideas with the intrinsic qualities offered by the more compassionate, liberal side.
    .
Unfortunately, the drum-beat of jingoistic propaganda has been producing the outpouring of hate mobs.

I now post here very little anymore, as there is absolutely no arguing with the many ultra conservatives on this site. Like a lot (not all) of eighteen year olds they now know everything there is to know, and so have stopped learning anything, evermore!!

No, it does not make me angry, it does somewhat sadden me though. Perhaps the tea party types will continue to pull the same thing over and over again, and then we can see just what happens in the 2014 elections, right?

Where do you think wikipedia took it from

The first sentence of Wikipedia looks a lot like the first sentence on IMDB. But, both are user generated content. If only there were a way to know which was written first…

BUT, there is! The IMDB entry dates from 2008, the Wikipedia version dates from 2006. So, in this case, IMDB must have plagiarized Wikipedia. Since both are user generated content, it’s possible that the same person wrote both.

Apparently, getting your facts straight before making a claim, is a liberal thing. /sarcasm

    @Zuhlamon & Robert Landers:

There are a few conservative leaning posters here who can actually make logical & articulate comments, but many more seem to just want to post without regard to supporting their statements.

There are a lot more people who read the comments than engage, so I usually feel obligated to point out anything that is a flat out lie.

Thank you, so do I. And those few such as RT that actually make a visible effort to remain relatively moderate and usefully in the middle politically. really do get my attention also!!

But to some here, if Ronald Reagan himself were to post on here, he would be considered a “Communist” by some of our more conservative posters. This does not anger me that much, as I just consider it a kind of sad commentary on the state of political debate that is going on in this country at this time!

You think these sites have a verifiable time-stamp function on the causal user’s level…. HA HA…

UJ stated: “Since both are user generated content, it’s possible that the same person wrote both.”

Soooo how do you know that the speech writer was not the source for all three… /sardonic

Again when the Left / Libs need the propaganda tool that is Wikipedia to support their augments… it is Newspeak

    Hello Robert,
This is a copy and paste I posted under your comment under Mr. Morin Sunday. I value your words and your ideas so pardon if I’m being repetitive. You can also contact me at sanesaint@hotmail.com if you’d like. This is the comment I posted.

I hope you see this before you leave, Robert.
I have had three emails from ‘lurkers’, people who read the comments, but don’t reply or comment themselves. Those replies thanked me for my tone and thoughts.
You are another one who offers intelligent commentary in a thoughtful tone. It is easy to let the vocal minority anger you, but if you consider the sources, even easier to ignore them. Once they establish themselves unable or unwilling to actually exchange ideas and offer solutions, they are like driving past the sewage plant on spring day. It stinks for just a moment, but then the journey continues, and often in better company than you realize are with you.
    Very Respectfully,
    C.
