    @Radish I have stated this on many other posts. Future generations will indeed by very unhappy if this generation leaves them a high debt level based upon cleaning up the air, water, and lands of this spaceship Earth. However, such debt can always be renegotiated, or in the worst case overturned.

    However, if the pollution is allowed to continue, giving future generations air they cannot breath, water they cannot drink, nor land the cannot live on, then those generations will really have something to hate the past generations about!!

    That is, if those future generations are not all dead in a world so polluted that it can no longer even be lived upon by human beings (or possibly even other life) at all.

    And that would be truly a cosmic level tragedy!!!!!

    And wasn’t it Dick Cheney who said “What do I care about Global Warming? I’ll be DEAD!”
    Yes, a Republican who really cares!

    Because the GOP has done its very best to eliminate ANY effort to clean up pollution. The falsely-named “Clean Skies Initiative” under Bush removed pollution controls. (Bush in Texas proposed an approach which had “voluntary” adherence. This produced some of the worst industrial pollution in the nation, since companies typically won’t do anything that costs them money.) The GOP has also eviscerated the EPA, blocked efforts to put in strong candidates into cabinet-level roles, and even tried to undo the restrictions on freon that helped reduce the hole in the ozone layer.
    Democrats care – though they have not acted strongly enough to overcome Republican obstinacy. Your accusation against democrats is ignorant and insulting. Go read the facts.

    @HOWGOZIT

    You have noticed, haven’t you, that the GOP is already trying to call the sequester the “Obama sequester?” No one beats the GOP at the blame game, especially when it is really their fault.

    The two dirtiest states ; Texas and Utah, allow big industry to regulate themselves. Utah may have the greatest snow on earth, but it has the dirtiest air as well. Conservatives here also make sure that Utah spends the least per pupil in school funding. Utah just hosted the NRA CEO, Le PeW-IEERE, it seems they worship guns more than god,his creation, or his children.
