Better check again, Joel. The Third Amendment is not pro-Army.

Why only Phoenix? Why not DC, too?

“Better check again, Joel. The Third Amendment is not pro-Army.”
I’m not reading it as him saying it is. Still, I imagine he would have found metal more attractive with, say, the 8th Amendment (Cruel and Unusual Punishment) than the 3rd, but there it is right between the 2nd and the 4th so he had to do SOMETHING. I mean, when was the last time “Quartering Soldiers” was a hot-button issue?
That being said, this cartoon seems kind of unfocused to me. The parentheticals in 1 and 2 seem to serve different purposes than 4 and 5, and the “What Took Us So Long?” seems to cut back against the tone of the whole (I know, that’s a lot of “seems”).
As for “Why Phoenix and not DC” perhaps the answer is “Monument Dilution”? In Washington you can see the actual Constitution, so maybe a monument would be redundant (or reductive).
Then again, while the Constitution is more than just “a piece of paper”, it’s still a legal document and not Holy Writ. Making a “Bill of Rights” monument seems (to me) to be fetishization (if not idolatry).
Then again again, I’ve never found ANY monuments to be particularly inspiring, which may be why I’m having trouble “getting” the cartoon…

Yep, FOX news had a musician playing Christmas music on a piano. HOW HATEFUL WAS THAT? It would have turned a die-hard liberal to stone. What would a liberal bill of rights look like? Come on, libs, don’t hold back. Print your own so we can ‘look good’ to the rest of the world because that’s all that matters to a lib.

No, FOX isn’t being hateful today.
But YOU are.

Actaully it reminds me more of the Roman Republic’s Twelve Tables of the Law.
( And yes. that’s a good thing, )

I know a LOT of “Libs” who ADORE Christmas Music!
Basically, you REALLY need to stop listening to Billow Reilly, and his senile delusions about a “War On Christmas”.
Here’s a startling thought…how about turning OFF the Television, and actually thinking for yourself? I KNOW it will be hard for you to do, but give it a try, and you might just enjoy it for a change!

What makes you think it’s a human being ?

Once the program’s trigger words are found, entire flaming reruns can be induced with two word posts.

Female Dignity.
.
let us see, if those don’t work ‘presidential respect’ will be tried next. This could save time in the long run.
Ho ho ho..

I think Texas added an Express Lane clause for V (especially in Capital cases).

@Zuhlamon
Actually, here in Texas if someone gets the death penalty they also get an automatic appeal.
[]
Unless the appeals process is waived by the condemned, it can be a good decade, if not more, between the time the conviction is handed down and the time the execution actually takes place.

It’s surprising to me that zealots regarding the first ammendment don’t think the second ammendment is very important.

Zealots regarding the second ammendment have great disdain for the first — except when it’s their free speech and free speech rights for corporations and secret political contributions.

Yawn… I turn on Fox news on the TV in the bathroom. If it bothers you that is your problem, not mine. How about you turn off the hate? That would be a good start.
