Well, according to Todd Akin and Paul Ryan, we can wait to see if she becomes pregnant. If she becomes pregnant, then it wasn’t a legitimate rape.

I wonder if they would consider being buggered in prison to be a “legitimate” rape?

The coat-hanger halo is a nice touch. It’s comedy that makes you uncomfortable, but you have to appreciate it.

Is there any prolife person in this comment forum willing to tell me the penalties to be enforced if Roe v Wade is overturned?
Will the women getting abortions, the doctors providing the abortions, and the fathers who help a wife or girlfriend get an abortion be fined, imprisoned, or executed?
What contingencies will be taken to prepare hospitals, schools, and the social system for a 200-500% increase in yearly births?
Or is the goal to overturn the law, then put the penalties in after the fact?
That’s not right.

You know folks, just because someone does not approve of abortion, that does not mean they can DO anything about it! I think you all should be very happy that (obviously) your mother did not approve of abortion! Saw a sign on the back of a semi on the highway that was very appropriate – “It’s not a choice – it’s a baby”.

They’re not pro-life. They’re anti-woman. Countries with universal health care have infant mortality rates that are fractions of what ours is, but they’re dead against having anything like that here.

@Orthodox Catholic
Thank you for your answer Orthodox Christian. You are the only person who has ever had the courage to tell me the answer to that question. You still haven’t addressed the second part tho. What do you plan for the 200-500% increase in infants born each year and the strain they will put on hospitals, schools, etc.
It goes without saying I would work very hard within the political system to prevent such penalties from being enacted. Your willingness to retroactively abort people for the crime of not being able to love and care for an infant is frightening. It is that attitude that made Scott Roeder drive to Kansas and kill Dr. Tillman before dying himself.
It is very frightening and reminds me of the reasons our founding fathers wanted a firm separation between religion and government.
Please consider speaking to your priest about your willingness to see people imprisoned and/or executed for being part of an abortion. Your attitude is not what I would expect from a follower of Jesus’s lessons of love and charity.
Respectfully, and nervously,
C.

…and you could have the situation where the victim has to shoulder all the responsibilities of raising the child, grant joint custody, and even pay child support to her rapist.

“I think you all should be very happy that (obviously) your mother did not approve of abortion!”
-
Why on earth would you believe that any woman who has had a baby disapproves of every woman’s right to her own health decisions?
-
I know lots of mothers who are adamant about women’s right to choose. For you to infer anything else without asking is presumptious or stupid.
-
As they are not mutually exclusive, it’s probably both.

Right! Everyone connected to any abortion should be:
PUT TO DEATH
-
The patient.
The doctor.
Any nurse in the room.
The receptionist.
The father, if he had approved it.
Anyone giving the mother transportation.
Any person or persons referring the mother to the killer.
-
By God, we’ll show them what Right To Life is all about!

@Orthodox Catholic Many people issuing opinions on the abortion question, and these include all current lawmakers especially Congressman Todd Akin and our own Michigan GOP, have little to no knowledge of their topic: pregnant women. Each person is unique. We know that there are more than a hundred potential complications, of varying severity, associated with pregnancy — many not seen until pregnancy occurs. There are also complications that are not due to pregnancy as such, but would prove fatal to both mother and child in the event of one, such as Gaucher’s disease. What we should look for in lawmakers, then, who have little-to-no knowledge about these medical problems, ought to be their ability to acknowledge they don’t know and ensure that quality care is available to all women, keeping their ignorant ideas out of the pants of individuals they cannot address in the first person.

This is AMERICA and The Constitution guarantees us the Freedom of Religion; however, what some people don’t realize is that there are two kinds of religious freedoms. There is the freedom for me to practice my religious beliefs as I see fit and there is the freedom that guarantees that you can not force your religious beliefs on me.

The reason these men has no knowlege of their topic is because they have little regard for women.
