You aren’t looking closely at the cartoon: Mr Pett has a low-rent eschatology.
Nixon and his cronies are stuck doing the menial labour in Paradise for all eternity. They don’t have any halos, but have to polish McGovern’s, fix the heavenly plumbing when it’s out, clean the heavenly restrooms & etc. And they’re not at all happy about it.
If I were religious and would believe in the existence of hell and that these bozos are there I would buy some gallons of nitro-fuel and poor it down some hole for the devil to heat up their special hell even further…
What makes you even think (if that is what you actually do with your brain) that you somehow have the right, what liberals or people of any political persuasion believe?
But, enough about Narnia, Middle Earth, Hogwarts, heaven and other imaginary places. The point of the cartoon is that nothing has changed in Retaliban politics in 40 years. Still playing the liberal, abortion, and race cards; still relying on the voters being dumb suckers. I’d say Mr. Pett nailed it.

I pointed out that (1) I’m not voting for Obama, and (2) requested that you go kiss Bush’s cornhole or go back to polishing your gun or whatever you do instead of working on your reading comprehension.
