    Scott, it’s your right to like Obama or not, but you should keep in touch with basic reality. Spread so thin, you say? Obama already ok’d one troop increase in February. This one - when it comes - will be the second. And yet you blame Obama for the crappy situation the Afghanistan mission is?

    1. Figure out what “victory” in Afgahanistan would be

    2. Decide just how much is will costs in terms of money, equipment, time, things we wont be able to do because we spending our resources in Afgahanistn, and finally, and most importantly, lives lost to achieve this victory.

    3. Ask yourself is this “victory” worth this costs?

    1. Victory is an historical impossibility,

    2. It would go on forever and break us as it did the Russians, the British and Alexander the Great,

    3. It’s not worth it.

    Use air power more.

    I am sorry that it looks like we are going to repeat our mistakes from Vietnam by staying not because we want to win, but because no one in power will show courage and do the right thing because they are afraid of losing votes.
