Unfortunately, that lobbying *is* a cost that we’re paying for under the current system.

The real bad guys have all been elected by us. They just try to get elected again. Their healthcare plan is wonderful…..they let us ‘eat cake’.

Funny, all of the hospitals in my state are losing more money then they can count….that pig should be a lot thinner

My daughter is an ICU RN, their problem is getting patients in, because people are broke and have no insurance- you can’t sell, or provide, what people have no money for.

At least no one has mentioned the “everyone has health care – just walk into an emergency room!” nonsense that Rush propagated. In fact, for-profit hospitals have been known to “dump” poor people at the doorsteps of nonprofit hospitals – a disgusting act, but well documented.

The fastest way to an affordable health care system and a balanced Federal budget is public campaign financing.

satipera4- had to add an apostrophe “t”, maybe making clearer that a lot of hospitals ARE having problems filling beds, not because people aren’t sick, but because they can’t afford the care. I share a board with a hospital administrator. Though our little community hospital is doing okay,(barely) he has noted his sources do reveal there is a real problem around the country for hospitals because people just can’t afford it. Yes, our healthcare system has earned an indictment.

ETOCME, If what you say is true, seems they would be happy to get out. Hand over all the problems to the government. Yet they’re fighting hard to kept things the way they are. WHY ?

People in the health care business need to learn to live within OUR means.

I think you need to modify that statement, cab. Many in primary care delivery do not get all that much for what they do. But the admin costs of the private insurances are well-known and excessive.
