What about Henry Ford and Prescott Bush’s links to Hitler? Just because we’re US, doesn’t mean we get it right.

The GOP gives license to a broad range of hatred among it’s members, their bigotry isn’t narrowly confined, many have said B. Obama’s affiliation with Islamic family members makes him anti-American, why not just cross-index the spectrum of persistent ignorance that makes up the core of the GOP and admit that his brown skin bothers you a lot, Repubs. Many of your’ party have no problem admitting it, you’ll feel better for being honest about yourself. And throw gays in there somewhere, wouldn’t be the same blend of hatred without them, come on, GOP, indulge.

A good Christian looks honestly at their faults on a regular basis so they can repent and get back on the right track. Those who deny that they have faults cannot get right with God or with their own lives. The same holds true with a nation – if we can’t honestly face our faults, then we can’t progress. We will have lost our history and will never have optimal relations with the rest of the world. A nation can never be truly great until it admits and atones for its sins.

Anan, are you generalizing comments about republicans to imply that it’s criticism about the entire country, deflecting? That kind of generalizing was used to insist that comments about W’s lack of aptitude while in office were unpatriotic because, of course, he had declared himself to be “A war-time president”, Clinton was roundly criticized during military excursions, no holding back from the GOP leadership at that time.
Haven’t noticed the GOP holding back on Obama, certainly.

Thanks, OM. I actually owe this particular icon to the astutely pretentious one ANandy is sporting, thanks for the inspiration ANandy.

Charles Manson is a native born American citizen. Why do the righties figure that every time you offer legitimate criticism of one of their idols, either corrupt, or not too bright, you’re attacking the country you fought for and your friends died for???
Now when the right rains insults, and disgusting comments on anyone they don’t agree with, they also accuse the left of being mean and nasty at the same time?
I’ve found those with the largest vocabulary of nasty names and insults, have the least rationale, or intellect to back them up.

You mean like ANandy calling President Obama “evil”?

And when asked to back up the label, ANandy responded with…uh, come to think of it, I don’t recall that he was able to come up with a response.

Did you find a way to justify, or even rationalize it, ANandy?

To be fair, I’ve seen pointless, groundless attacks from both sides of your political divide. You people seem to oppose just for the sake of opposing sometimes.

Tricky, just as a matter of curiousity, from what perspective are you coming? I find you very rational, but we all have backgrounds that inform our viewpoints.
