Using the laws Republicans wrote, and passed, how outrageous and scandalous indeed! Don’t like the idea of taps, on anyone without warrants, and probable cause, but blame the Patriot Act and Bush “Executive Orders” for the laws, rationales, and “authorities”.

TROUT: Not that you’d care, but the Patriot Act called for warrentless wiretapping between a domestic call to a suspected terrorist OUTSIDE of the Country ONLY, and was to sunset after 10 years. It was not expanded to ANY domestic call and made permanent until Madam Pelosi and Cowboy Poet Reid took over Congress in 2008. And I’ll give you a hint: Who was the Junior Senator from Illinois that voted in favor?

Big Brother is already here. Neither side has any desire to stop it. The only difference (perhaps) is that there are different plans as to how to use the information they’re gathering.
Again, if all this does is make us fight among ourselves, Big Brother wins.
Write your representatives, educate yourselves, and vote for the future of the country, not for a particular party.

In 2001, the Bush, Jr administration knew about a planned Al Qaeda attack, and rightly declared that knowledge Top Secret, so Al Qaeda wouldn’t know that the US knew. This strategy worked out very well, leading to two extremely popular and profitable wars that lined the pockets of the Friends of the Bush, Jr administration.
The Manchester Guardian reports that the Obama administration had Top Secret information that there was “an al-Qaida plot in the spring of 2012 to detonate a bomb on an airplane bound for the United States”.
The AP leaked the details of this plot, a clear violation of US secrecy acts. The AP deserved to be investigated, and, after the investigation proves that they violated the secrecy act, they deserve to be shut down.
Only publications that are 100% The Truth (e.g., Pravda—The Truth in Russian) can be allowed to publish in the US.

Bush kept it to calls overseas to terrorists only. It was electronic, not a person listening in on private phone calls.
Obama is infringing on the rights of American citizens doing their jobs. The media, no less, who must demand secrecy of sources so sources will continue to give them information. And of Congress.
Very different than Bush.

I will trump your reply with this fact.
In the 1980’s, Ronald Reagan held a Press Conference from The Oval Office. This is when he told us about Terrorist Osama and his Terrorist Army and how they were ‘Freedom Fighters’ as they were battling ‘The Evil Empire’. He went on to tell us Osama was running out of bullets and how we had to supply him with more bullets to help him defeat ‘The Evil Empire’ (Russia) Osama was battling Russia over a small strip of uninhabitable strip of Afghanistan land just across The Russian Border.
Had RR not interfered by supplying Terrorist Osama and his Terrorist Army with more bullets, Russia would have killed Osama and September 11, 2001 never would have occurred. Remember, Osama was the mastermind behind the September 11, 2001 attacks.
Oh, Russia still collapsed as Russia was putting all of their money battling Osama over that small strip of uninhabitable land just out of Russia’s reach across the border in Afghanistan.
