In reality, although president Obama’s ratings are not nearly as high as he would want them, I am sure. His ratings are some four times (or more) as high as those of the tea party led House of Representatives. So if Speaker Boehner wants to really sue anybody, he can always go after the guy in the mirror. In actuality, I sometimes feel sorry for him, it must be like trying to herd hundreds of cats, all determined to go in different directions!!

I don’t think anyone but the right wing is paying much attention to that “worst president” poll — it just shows that Obama is very unpopular with Republicans, while the rest of America is split between the truly awful Bush II, Nixon, and to some extent Reagan. My favorite take on it is Borowitz’s satirical “Americans who think Obama is worst president since World War II also blame him for starting it.”

Not a valid comparison. Harry Truman also had low ratings when he left office. With the perspective of time, historians now rank him seventh best president. It’s difficult to be popular when so many expect you to single-handedly solve the world’s problems.

Republicans did their best to make the poll results.
In reality, the worst president ever was GW Bush.

A poll on a conservative Republican website thinks Obama is bad? Gee whiz, what a discovery. Not exactly Nate Silver here, folks. Move along.
One examination of it found generally that Republicans piled all their positive votes on Reagan and negatives on Obama, while Democrats spread their votes more widely. Of course, there were more good Democratic presidents to give their votes to…

    Worst since WWII?
Well, Truman with Medicare was bad, but still nothing like that Commie FDR with that Social Security BS.
So I guess Obama IS the worst since W’s second term.

For some reason people tend to blame the President for all the problems. He really has to operate mostly within the law and does not have a great deal of power. The Congress has the ability to change the laws and really make big changes. The polls are just a way for the talking heads to kill time during the five o’clock news.

    .
And then try to ensure that he can’t solve any problems.

    You are absolutely 100% correct.
i read an article referring tot this poll that admitted sitting presidents are often rated worse than they are after even a couple years out of office.
    .
There is and God help us hopefully never will be a president worse than the shrub.

    @Tigger

Polls showed that Cantor would stomp his opponent in the primary. Polls showed that Romney was going to beat Obama.

Polls showed that Dewey defeated Truman.

Tigger, the article on CNN is referencing the Quinnipiac University poll, it was NOT their own poll.

You need to read past the headlines to see what the source is REALLY referring to.

Right?? I think it is so unfair. I’m sure it’s been hell trying to right the titanic that was GW Bush’s america for the past two terms, and he and his administration have done such great things like representing our country well abroad, ending don’t ask don’t tell, saving GM, extending health care to millions, supporting the middle and poor classes, etc. etc., and all the while facing an obstructionist Congress. The late night stress fests he must have behind the scenes make it no wonder his hair is turning grey. I think it’s a shame people blame instead of help this president. I think he he gets an “A” for effort and high score for what he’s accomplished. Maybe one day soon, the dust will clear, and people will respect him rather than dumping on him.
