Comes down to this, who would be willing to pay an extra fee to connect to facebook, if nobody you knew was on it? Hmm. Kinda hard on the new startup in town, eh? Not easy on the established ones, either. http://inthecapital.streetwise.co/2014/05/23/why-netflix-pays-google-less-comcast-verizon/

I saw this strip and asked myself, why would one want mommy government in the way? Then I read the strip. I think someone needs a lesson. This a non political look.

basically, When mommy government starts using key buzz words like “neutrality” be afraid, be very afraid!

“Neutrality” is just another code buzz word like “fair” and the government should in no way be involved in trying to make things “fair” or “neutral”
so no, I would rather have a company try to screw me, I do NOT need what they are selling so bad I have to run to mommy government, sorry, I would rather just go to the competitor. And if I do not get my money worth I fire them! How do you do that once you give the keys to government? move to another country?

big business manipulating for ever greater profits for ever less services, you’re all for it.."
    oh no “profits”
how dare they make money off of the internet, why making money with the internet is what has stiffled growth in this world and blah blah , profits oh no, run for the hills and hide the children, profits are coming…

What I have learned over the years is that business will screw the public if they think they can get away with it."
True, and even if they get away with it you have to do business to stay in business. and one that is screwed will go to the other guy. Now how does one do that when Mommy government screws you over twice over and hands you the bill?

Another issue where our overtaxed and wildlife are like the French and Italian main battle tanks, one speed forward, and five in reverse. Full speed to get it all backward!

Net Neutrality means we will KEEP what we’ve GOT where the PUBLIC AIRWAVES are used by people with First Amendment rights who OWN those airwaves will be served, without having those access points to the world totally controlled by the 1% in this country who can “afford” to buy peoples’ minds through information access limitations.

Interesting btw that someone who uses the public airwaves alone for access to television, and news, seems to think having the public give still more power to corporate “personhood” is a good thing.

understand the point is big business is manipulating the system in order to give you LESS of what you are paying for while charging you even MORE while enjoying NO COMPETITION."

That sounds like Obamacare failing in order to give us Single payer. Interesting. But if company A wants to pay company B to make sure the Data is getting to customers A faster, then I say so what. Now if mommy government steps in and says not fair, you can not do that because C and D can not get that speed I say government has over stepped. and that is what Net Neutrality is all about. The price will be set by free market, meaning that company A will make a profit by being able to get more to it’s customers, Company A might have to charge more, but it is up to the customer to decide if the price is right. Mommy government should not step in. Company C and D should step up and work out a deal or make it cheaper, or just plain die off and leave it to someone else to fill the void if there is one.

    @TheTrustedMechanic

As an intelligent person I know that only government can round off the sharp edges of the figurative knife businesses use to a injure and abuse me. "
yeh, I trust mommy government, just like you trusted Obama to “take a scalpel” to the budget. How is that working for ya, He took a sledge hammer and put holes in which more money leaked and leaked out of this country. So no I would not trust mommy government to blunt a sharp edge. More like sharpen it and take your head off if you do not agree to what is “fair” or even “neutral”
The fact remains that this trip is all wrong! How can “neutrality” be a net UNDER when it does not judge who falls. It only catches who fails. But a net between is some how “neutral” That net is set up to JUDGE which is what you have to do in order to state which is “fair” or not “neutral” so it will be mommy government putting the net UP in FRONT of the people not under!

Says the guy who constantly demands the government institute a ( wait for it ) FAIR tax.

Funny how the internet has never had this “neutrality” and it’s done just fine, but Heller just can’t stand the idea of people he hates having the right to speak.

I would point out to all the conservatives here that Net Neutrality is not a new idea, in fact, it’s what we’ve always had up until now.
And the last time I looked out my window the sky WASN’T falling.

Sure “government take over the cable lines” so that nobody who disagrees with your extremist party line is allowed on the air ever.

How many times has Obama said “fair” in any given speech? “Fair Tax” is a name, “fair” is an Obama Buzz action word. Do I need to diagram it for ya?
