I hope this is a real, necessary investigation and not just another political trashing by legal means.

It might have been brilliant satire ? After all, what’s the substantive difference between the two? Walker = corrupt antilabor regime in kow tow to Koch brothers. Sanford = corrupt user of public money and adulterer.

    David…
    I hope so. I really do….
    But if so…
The Koch Bros/Walker issue is more akin to the relationship Boss Tweed had in Tammany Hall during the 1860’s/’70’s. A blatant use of money and influence to gain political/corporate advantages.
Sanford, except for his use of state funds and the int’l aspect of his relationship (with a more attractive woman), is more akin to the Clinton scandal. If Mr. Clinton hadn’t been more afraid of his wife than the Congress, there wouldn’t have been an impeachment or an incredible waste of taxpayer funds.
    Such a shame.
    You’re a good spirit David.
    Respectfully,
    C.

Respectfully taken but no kess than 7 of the repubby’s sitting in judgement of Clinton were/or had also engaged in their own affairs.
Gingrich was screwing his secretary cheating on his 2nd wife as they snibbled and moaned about Bill getting a BJ from a consenting adult, and Dan Burton was being the self rightious hypocrite when he publicly stated:
“Dan Burton, Republican Representative from Indiana, had stated “No one, regardless of what party they serve, no one, regardless of what branch of government they serve, should be allowed to get away with these alleged sexual improprieties ….”42 In 1998, Burton admitted that he himself had an affair in 1983 that produced a child.43"

The real issue then as now is the waste of time it all boils down to.

Yes it is, because there is a definite problem with arrogance in the ruling class that makes them feel they are above the law. IMO it is exclusive of party, it’s just the position and sometimes the incredibly stupid things they do, thinking that the “normal” rules of conduct or decorum don’t apply to them. Oh well, it’s a problem that’s existed for ions so I don’t think it’s going to be resolved anytime soon.

John Edwards is no longer in politics, but Newt Gingrich who had is wife handed her divorce papers while she was fighting cancer in the hospital, certainly is!!
