I suspect that there have ALWAYS been Gays in the Boy Scouts, and that quite a few guys had their first gay experience in a pup tent on an overnight campout somewhere…
Of course there have always been gay scouts and scoutmasters. But a seven or eight-year-old kid isn’t aware when he joins whether he’s gay or not. And he probably won’t be worried about ten years later, when he’ll get kicked out of the club, because what you’ve DONE is irrelevant if who you ARE is unacceptable to the bigots in charge.
Even if there were boy scout leaders when I was in the scouts (as I am now 70, that was quite a long time ago) that were gay, I do not remember even having anything to do with anything even remotely sexual, let alone gay in any way!

Can you say ’the Church [is] full of pederast priests"? There is no, repeat, no connection between being gay and diddling children. As for natural law, very well then, homosexuality is found in nature. It is not confined to homo sapiens.
I don’t care if there are homosexual priests, but I don’t like it when priests abuse children, and I sure don’t like it when the Church hierarchy tries to cover it up.
Well, I was just trying to point out that the original (?) god-given (??) function of a part of the body isn’t the only thing that part can do. God (?) put ears on our heads so we can hear things, but gosh it turns out that you can hang glasses off them, too. Is that a violation of god’s plan for us? And since we’re on this topic, you may have heard about oral sex Maybe not. Well, that’s when one person uses a tongue to stimulate another person’s genitals. As it happens, a man can do that to a woman, a woman can do that to a man, and gosh, a man can do the same thing (!!) to a man and a woman can do the same thing (!!) to a woman. Now god (?) gave us tongues so that we could blow raspberries, but I guess it’s okay if we blow other things, too. Is is within god’s plan (?) if a man does it to a woman but not in god’s plan (???) if a woman does it to a woman? Anatomically it’s pretty much the same, after all.
