Nope, just caring middle class people that are caring enough about those even less well off than they are taking some extra food and clothing to a food bank or The Salvation army. It IS such people that are the true spirit of giving that is American.

And I am also glad that there are true givers among the wealthy and ultra wealthy that also use their wealth for the good of others.

To a great extent that is the true American spirit of the season of thanksgiving and Christmas.

Now, for those wealthy and super wealthy (and even for those that did give even a small amount) that gave large amounts to influence the voters in the recent election, that was fine with me. But they should realize that giving of that sort is like going to the Casinos’ in Las Vegas, take only what you can really afford to just lose, and then be happy when you lose. So those that backed President Obama won, and those that backed Candidate Romney lost. And you and certain others on these discussion boards should just get over that.

Standing somewhat more in the middle of the political spectrum, I will await developments as they occur. Right now, I am hopeful that both political sides of the Congress will be able to work out a compromise that may not be to entirely either sides liking, but at least will avoid a total meltdown of the American economy from its (admittedly) slow but somewhat steady recovery from the possibility of a total depression that we experienced in the 2007 though 2009 period.

I must admit however, that I do grow somewhat tired of all the negative carping and nay saying that goes on in posts from the more extreme side of the conservative elements on these boards. Constructive and moderate criticisms are quite welcome, but the continued griping all the time does grow wearisome at times.

But, Have A Good Day Anyway. I know that my own conscience is clear, and I will!

Conundrum or idiocy? Fix the debt or fix the economy?

Thought I had something to say here, Mr. Landers, but you said it quite well.
We have some very classy people in the upper class. We have even more classy people in the middle and lower classes. When you see people with nothing giving what little they have, you see AMERICANS.
    Great post, thanks.

Billionaires also funded the Obama campaign. The entertainment and legal industries will soon be rewarded by the President.

This is amazing. Billionaires contributed to both sides so they have either winner beholding to them. Besides, what’s a few million dollars to a billionaire?

Just wondering if anything from the more extreme side of the Liberal elements bothers you, or if it’s only the Conservatives?
I’m not asking to be snarky, just would like to know…

Ooh! He said “Thugs”! Now I’m scared! Get a clue — the American electorate has little use for the European-style austerity and anti-poor thuggery being peddled by the right. No union “thug” every threatened my well-being by trying to keep up standards of living wages in this country, but Paul Ryan is still planning some serious damage to any hope I have of retiring some day.
