Well, let the arguments begin. The cons will say Global warming isn’t real and the libs will say they have their heads in the sand. I know what I believe and I’m also bored with the argument!

I saw a bit of an interview on Fox ‘News’ today (dont’ know the participants) — there was a caption indicating that the interviewee believed we need to innovate our way out of the climate change problem.
    ?
Does this mean that Fox ‘News’ believes that climate change is not a hoax?
    ?
I assume frequent Fox viewers will know.

What about the crass commercialism of products invading our everyday life…schools, sports, and even our comics!
Do you think a super PAC paid for this?

No aware person denies climate control any longer, unless (a) politics trumps truth for you, or (b) you’re paid to not believe it, like the Koch Brothers “scientists,” the kind (and sometimes the exact same people) who once were paid to say tobacco doesn’t cause cancer. There’s no third option, because the evidence has been coming in for forty years, and becomes more definitive every month. This will be hugely damaging to the only planet we’ve got to live on, and it is unconsciable that we don’t have a carbon tax. Corporate money is making our planet unlivable, for a few percent value in a few stocks.

We had a cold spell not that long ago. Europe is cooler than normal now. The Earth won’t realize that a carbon tax is being paid and suddenly snap into whatever the liberals consider as normal temperatures. But there is no way to make a liberal or environmentalist happy. If one tries they make their demands more and more crazy.

For those who still think there is ANY doubt about climate change — even Ima’s usual information-free rant seems a little weak — here’s the National Center for Science Education site. Go on, learn something!

Oh, and a story about how Global Warming as led to those fires out West:
    http://www.salon.com/2012/07/03/we_started_the_fire_global_warming_burns_the_southwest/
The planet isn’t warming evenly — it isn’t a microwave oven, for Pete’s sake — it is warming on average, in ways which lead weather patterns to change.
For example, the UK is warmer than it should be “normally” (it is at the same latitude as Newfoundland but has temperatures more like Boston) because it is warmed by the Gulf Stream. Global warming can shift the Gulf Stream in the ocean as it already has the Jet Stream, in which case the UK will get much colder. Does an isolated spot getting colder mean global warming is wrong? Of course not; it means the UK will no longer be unusually warm and will revert to the average temperatures of its latitude.

My dachsie said it’s “pavement warming”. When your legs are only three inches long, you’re “closer to the issue”.

Out West fires have been set off by target shooters. Now they are whining that they are being targeted. Fires are one of the problems predicted to increase during global warming. July 2nd, Los Angeles Times, “Global warming in our backyard”. The U.S. Geologic Survey report found that sea levels are already rising more quickly along the East Coast from Massachusetts to North Carolina than they are globally. Emerging patterns closely fit predictions outlined by those scientists . Head in sand deniers will not help plan for what is coming, because they deny it’s happening. Utah promoted a Nuclear Power Plant based on water predictions from WET year records, and not from the predicted dry years expected. Conservatives short sightedness.

North Carolina solved the global warming problem.(satire)
When the study came out saying sea level was predicted to rise 39 inches by 2100, NC passed a law saying it is illegal to use that study. You must quote one from years back that predicts a 6 inch rise in the same amount of time.

The people who deny global warming don’t have the slightest idea what ‘global warming’ means. They think it means that every day is hotter than the day before, so the fact that winters are cooler than summers PROVES that global warming does not exist.

The Northwest Passage has appeared for the first time since 1500, and we know that for a fact. So it’s hard to deny global warming.

Of course, one can deny that burning carbon had anything to do with it, since post hoc ergo propter hoc is a fallacious argument.

So neither side seems to know anything about logic or epistemology.

The Global Taxers give a damn about weather as much as the obamunists care about the uninsured. It’s all about power.

I see three levels of Climate Change denial:
    - Level 1 Climate Change Denial: Denying it’s happening at all (i.e. “Short Bus Level”) Harder and harder to do as the evidence keeps coming.
    - Level 2 Climate Change Denial: It’s happening, but it’s not man-made. “Solar Cycles” is a popular excuse amongst them.
    - Level 3 Climate Change Denial: It’s happening, it’s man-made, but it’s good for us (see film “The Greening of Planet Earth”) Pretending something clearly bad for you is good is just another form of denial; sorry, more tropical disease is not a good thing.
