Cats, like dolphins, do not respond to negative reinforcement. Training is pretty easy once folks get that concept.

They can be trained to operate computer, but the keyboard/mouse concept is hard for them to understand.

In a year or two, Tony will be taking care of his brothers dog, and the dog will end up wrecking his place. The friendly guy will try to make friends with me, but naturally I will hiss at him and put him in his place.

Nowadays you can just take a picture of your cat and post it on reddit in minutes. Back then you had to take a picture (with film!), wait for it to be developed from the drug store, ask your friend at work in the graphics department to scan the photo, copy it onto a floppy disk, then bring it home, dial in to your favorite BBS, and upload it. Kids today have it so easy…
