The Marine Corps is investigating newly surfaced photos that purport to show Marines burning the bodies of Iraqi insurgents in Fallujah in 2004. The photos were first published Wednesday on the entertainment website TMZ (warning: graphic). The site said it obtained 41 photos but decided to publish only some of them because "many are just too gruesome..

the toon is an excellent comparison of the real world to political mythology from folks who know nothing about the real world.

So that’s what a truly liberated country looks like these days. And to think it all paid for itself.

but but but buuuuush and the GOP. Obama has a Pyrite Peace Prize that makes him invisible to criticism from the lame stream. That and Obama has NO policies. He has blame for “man made bad things that happen over seas.” But Obama just thinks we need to be nice and they will love us. Kerry is a bumbling idiot and Biden “has been wrong” in every case on how to deal with the middle East.
And on 9 11 12, they were not chanting GOP in the middle East under a Al Qu Da Flag, nope, it was “Obama we are Osama” Maybe that is why Obama supported a Year of Muslim Brotherhood Rule in Egypt? He likes hearing his name chanted in the street.

This war was lost the day after it was won. If they had just shot a few looters and put their foot down, things would have been very different.

Why does this all seem strangely familiar?
Hummm…let’s see…ANOTHER useless war that cost thousands of American Lives, and unknown numbers of Civilian casualties…where the enemy we were fighting took over once we had left…where we had NO BUSINESS being in the first place…where have we encountered this before?
    Oh yeah…Vietnam!

Here is hoping Egypt and Syria don’t rate our ‘help’ for their crisis.
Has America not destroyed enough already? is America’s own people the next victims?

    @Stipple

Americans are not really the “next” victim, we’ve been the victims of the 1% for many years. Look to the republican policies brought to us by uncle ronnie raygun and “enhanced” under bush 1 & 2/cheney.

Blinders on conservatives and rose colored glasses on liberals….
I imagine that all newsmen stay clear of Somalia, Egypt, Libya, Iraq, and our Congress…
and Benghazi…which makes them smarter than our ambassador ???

As to those gruesome photos …why were they ever taken ??
To prove to some fools that war is indeed hell ??

Credit our President for keeping us out of Egypt , Syria and Libya(more or less) ….Now, a much more difficult task – the 1% ….and the 40% (libertarians and conservatives).
Elizabeth Warren may have to handle this one…

And if you want to see what society becomes when everyone is entitled to all the weapons they want, look no further than Iraq. I guess this is what a “polite society” looks like.
