Keep blaming theTea Party for trying to stop a horrible bill.
In 5 years, we will wish we had listened.

Approximately 90% of Americans get decent health coverage from Medicare or employer health plans. The ACA has no effect on them.

What it does to the remaining 10% isn’t clear, but they are such a small minority, most voters won’t care either way.

The Obamabot news sources will all say it’s proven that they’re all getting great coverage for less than $100 a month total out-of-pocket expenses; the Tea Party news sources will say they have irrefutable proof that the ACA death panels are costing $3 trillion a year. Both will be lying.

Obamabots (at least 90% with no personal experience) will believe the Obamabot news sources. Tea Party types (at least 90% with no personal experience) will believe the Tea Party news sources.

The time to stop a bill is before it becomes a law. Or compromise with the the other party. But wait, that’s what the ACA is – a compromise law. The GOP didn’t want anything, and the Democrats wanted a lot more. The ACA is the result. Does it matter how many Republicans voted for or against it? No. What matters is that it had the votes to pass. The 40 plus bills to repeal it only wasted American taxpayer money.

The sad part is the house always had the numbers to pass a clean bill— the only reason he couldn’t bring the bill to the floor was the minority tea party caucus started running ads against him in home district.

I suppose the 8 years under Dumbya were nirvana. Nothing but laughs, wine and roses. But as soon as we try to give poor people access to healthcare the end of the world is nigh.

Excellent cartoon. The 2013 t party is anarchist. So anti-government. What are they against? Everything we try to do collectively. What are they for? Freedom they say. Freedom from everything that gets in their way, but keep my subsidies coming I have a right to them.

If the TEA “Party” is so in favor of “Smaller, Less Intrusive Government”, why do they, and the other “conservative Republicans” keep introducing bills that intrude more and more into people’s personal lives?
They want to keep sticking their noses into Reproductive Rights, Marriage Rights, Voting Rights…the list goes on and on…

I’ve still yet to hear a proper explanation for why the party of “States’ Rights” wanted to introduce a bill that would force states with more restrictive gun laws to recognize firearms permits from states with more permissive laws.
of course, I have my own theory: They’re a bunch of hypocritical scumbags who think that government is a tool to force others to hew to their way of life. Which doesn’t put them too far from Democrats, in my view, but they could at least stop the insultingly-threadbare charade.

The basic problem seems to lie in the attempt to make some sense out of Teabagheadism to begin with. The simple answer: THERE IS NONE!

In 1773, our Founding Fathers had a cause, and a purpose. They set out to establish a Nation where only “Colonies” previously existed. They fought, bled, and died for this cause and purpose. And, in the end, brought forth one of the most unique experiments in human government recorded in history. The foundation for this is the Constitution, together with its Amendments; and this structure has not only survived for over 200 years, it has also been the force, guide, and strength that has brought our Nation to the forefront of world leadership.

The current gaggle of Teabagheads have nothing at all in common with the Founding Fathers – though they put on mock tri-corn hats and hang teabags off them. They are merely a disconnected bunch of dis-satisfied rabble, seeking to destroy stability in favor of whatever pitifully small minded ways in which such destruction might manage to bring about a veto of the 21st Century, and reactionary, regressive, racist return to the – totally imaginary – “good old days”, when laws, rules, and regulations were – according to their own fantasies – merely applicable to others than themselves. They have no concept of the meaning, or effects, of such anarchy. And, they also have no real capacity to learn.

Basically, the TEA “Party” is the Taliban to the Republican Party’s Islam.
The radical, repressive, extremist branch, who wants EVERYONE else to bow down to their ideology.
And yes, I know the comparison is VERY insulting…to the Taliban!

Don’t like ACA? Understandable. You (Congress) have the power. Come up with something better. Revise the more egregious parts. That is governing. Holding your breath until the whole country turns blue is not governing. I hope the electorate can tell the difference, since Congress evidently cannot or will not.
