    “Moderates”…….. BWAHAHA!!

Making 20 million more illegal aliens legal is not a concern of just conservatives. Ask any of the Tens of millions of American blue collar workers or middle-class people looking
work if this is a good idea.
These mostly low-skilled and poor illegals will also be jumping onto Obamacare for subsidized healthcare paid for by us. So less jobs and higher taxes. Yay!

Oh and before the liberal race card dealers start crying, this has Nothing to do with race. Kick out the illegal Irish, German and Englishmen too. Let them get in line.

My friend, the most flaming liberal in the Democrat party is just barely left of center in real-world terms.

If you want to end the presence of illegal aliens in the USA, start locking up employers who hire them. Reagan wanted us to end the hiring loopholes when he granted amnesty in the 80’s. (thanks tigger) But a bipartisan group of legislators listened to the cries of their voters and donors who said they needed the labor the illegal aliens were providing so loopholes were installed and here we are again. Americans turning on Americans because our legislature didn’t do their jobs correctly.
@ ConservGov – I have nuanced agreement with you, however, without the illegals working for substandard pay in labor intensive jobs in agriculture, chicken/hog factories, and construction, those industries swear they will be unable to find workers. Apparently, Americans want to be paid a reasonable wage especially when doing very hard work. What do you think we can do to make Americans willing to work in fields and chicken factories etc?
    Respectfully,
    C.

The best managers know that one must keep costs low. Hire American citizens and, at the end of the pay period, they’ll expect to be paid and will go to court for their paycheque. If illegals have the temerity to demand payment, just call La Migra and be done with them. Call La Migra every payday, and cut labour costs to $0. That’s Great Management.

And you want to interfere with that? You want to put our agribusinesses out of business?

Of course, that will mean broccoli will rot in the fields, so maybe your proposal to punish employers WOULD be a good idea. Bush, Sr, who never listened to his mother, ‘If you don’t eat your broccoli, you’ll never grow up to be re-elected president,’ would certainly approve of anything that got rid of the plague of broccoli.

Immigration reform should start with going after the companies who hire the illegal immigrants. If they can’t find work, they’ll stop crossing the borders. It’s supply and demand. You also see it with illegal drugs. No matter how tough anti-drug laws are, there will always be a supply as long as there is a demand.

I will remind you that while illegal immigration may be blamed for so many people being out of work, the real problem is that companies keep sending manufacturing jobs overseas.

Yes, it is the companies that hire illegals who need to be targeted, and strongly. That, as well as money being paid under the table, is keeping wages artificially low, and creating the sad reality of multiple families living under one roof. And, too bad if the hog farmers lose profits by having to pay living wages. It is a vile industry and the costs should reflect the carnage.

Thank goodness that we do have these people, these immigrants to do these hard and boring tasks.
Even try this type of work, Mr Conservative ??
    I have ……
We need these brave and decent hard working people and we must respect them…NOT hate and fear them as the extremist are doing…
Down with the fences and walls..

    RT
If they are doing work that us Americans won’t do, then make all of them Guest Workers just like many of them are now. They get the privilege to work and make money here and then return home when done. I have no problem with that.
Why do we need to suddenly make them citizens that will compete for jobs that Americans WILL do?

And then we have “ansonia” on the (Right ?) – or that other side, anyway, where ONLY they have the “rights”, such as imbecilic parroting of nonsensical assertions, snide insults, and all the other wit and wisdom of those whose position is, simply, “I say it’s so, therefore it’s so. And, because it’s so, therefore I say it’s so. And anyone who disagrees with me is 100% wrong, because I’m always 100% ‘RIGHT’. And, because I’m always 100% ‘RIGHT’, anyone who disagrees with me absolutely MUST BE 100% wrong”.

Rather obviously, he/she/it/whatever has never tried to get one of those “work permits” so blithely asserted as the “solution to the problem”. Question: Do they exist? Question 2: IF they do exist, where do those OUTSIDE the country – those “ansonia” refers to as “illegal”, BECAUSE they have crossed the border – go to get one?

Oh! And Question 3: With the premise of “illegality” to be solved by punishing the EMPLOYER – who isn’t in the business of issuing imaginary “work permits” to begin with, who then, will have jobs to offer those who might have such, if such exist?

Never mind! “Ansonia” won’t – most probably CAN’T(!) – answer anyway.
