Even if people do not believe either that such Global Climate Change does even exist, or that we as human beings are not even responsible for it at all, or even if we are, we can not do anything about it, we should at the very least do as much as possible about the conditions that are generated by increasing extreme weather conditions. And that is regardless of the monetary cost, for just what are human lives actually worth?

The important thing is to keep pumping greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere as fast as possible. I mean, what harm could it do?

Further, it is not that this has not happened before even before human industrialized activity existed. It is the fact that (although fast by geologic time spans of millions of years) these relatively large world wide changes in the general climate have occurred not in thousands of years like the natural changes in the past. It is instead the fact that these changes have occurred over the last 150 years or so since the industrial revolution of mankind. And it is that rapidity of these changes that scientists see as a correlation to human activities that is influencing these Rapid Global Climate Changes, that is so important for humanity to pay attention to!!

If man-made climate change is real, then some very big companies are responsible. Therefore, in the eyes of people like Harley, it can’t be real. Right-wingers believe in “personal responsibility” which means that nothing is ever the responsibility of the rich and powerful.

Climate change has been going on for 14000 years, since the last Ice Age. We can’t do anything about it, it’s normal. Humans are so arrogant that we think we can control everything, but we can’t. There were once green plants in Greenland, but not in the memory of the human race. We will do what we always do – adjust. If too many humans are the problem, then what are you liberals going to do about that? Tax the air we breathe? Of course, liberals can’t cope with a situation that does not involve more taxes and more spending. It’s always the answer to everything; they don’t need to understand the question.

Some people are idiots. They express their beliefs in generalities but refuse to mention the details. YES OF COURSE climate change has been going on for billions of years… it is the RAPIDITY of that change which is extraordinary. DUH! Change that should have taken thousands of years has happened in a decade. And is increasing as the level of CO² increases. DUH! And where does the CO² come from? Man-made cars, factories and planes. DUH. So no, it is not a liberal fantasy… it is a scientific reality. Oh, yeah, sorry. The Right Wing either refuses to believe the scientists or is too stupid to understand what science is… substituting Creationism etc for reality.

Common sense tells us that we should all do our part to protect the environment. However, global warming fanatics want to reduce everybody (except for themselves) to poverty, spending every penny of everybody else’s money, to see if they can change the climate. If they want to waste their own money trying to change the climate, let them. But don’t waste my money trying.

Well, I think it winds up being somewhere in between. There are those who certainly appear to be too stupid to comprehend reality. And there are those who are so busy inventing arguments, and fantasizing that the rest of the world ought to believe them; accept them as something other than mere nonsense; and live in/with them in spite of the evidence; they just ignore reality entirely.

Also, the recognition of reality – i.e., that, among other simple truths, eons old “reasons”, and “reasoning”, do not necessarily apply to vast technological changes – altogether too often gets lost in the jabberwocky of politics, or the jargons of Jackasses-in-the-Pulpits. This IS the 21st Century, whether anyone else believes it or not, and/or would prefer to turn the clocks backwards to the 18th, for instance.

Perhaps, the poster, “MrSmee” writes the best reply of today’s crop. And, I’ll let the rest of the readers decide for themselves where to put the other responses.

“A spike in 1974 and in 2011, but those are bound to happen” In 1975 Time magazine published an article by a scientist that predicted weather related disaster due to golbal cooling. It’s amazing that climatic cycles are being used to make some people huge fortunes (see Al Gore) and that some people just don’t realize that our world will see these cycles again and again.

I think the “liberal” response to a tragedy like this is to make sure people get the aid they need to get back on their feet and become productive citizens again, without doing it at the expense of another struggling group of people.

The hockey stick graph NEVER was a myth, and it isn’t today. You can find it on any reputable site. The level of CO2 is higher now than ever in the history of humans as a species, and it is causing global warming. You are a fool and a tool.

It is pathetic that in a disaster there are people who will blame others for their views on climate change. Come on people think of the people in Oklahoma and do what you can to help.Quit bickering.

The difference between ignorance and stupid is new facts can cause an ignorant person to change their mind, a stupid one can’t. “To Hell with the facts, the world is flat! My preacher’s postman tole me so!”

The good thing about science is that it exists whether people want to accept it or not.
