And yet Barry and the Spendocrats say that not collecting enough taxes is the problem.

This cartoon is soooo false. Everyone knows there is NO waste in the Pentagon or any other aspect of defense spending. We need every one of those flag officers.

Also, we need every one of those weapons systems, even those the Pentagon doesn’t want.

Not taxing the wealthy enough is a problem. Massive Pentagon waste is also a problem. Guess which party took the lead in causing both of those problems?

No wonder George Carlin said “Military Intelligence” was the world’s greatest Oxymoron!

Not collecting enough taxes IS the problem. You obviously haven’t done the math. But math is not a strong point for either half of your name…

Funny how the bloated entitlement programs are never mentioned.

This may be the only way possible to cut defense spending, so it has some merits.

Then political intelligence is a close second.

Mitt Romney admits to paying 14% of his millionaire’s income to the federal government in taxes.
About 15 years ago, my federal tax rate was 11% on a working man’s pay..
14% , 11 % should be simple enough for conservatives..I think they want greater simplicity….
10% for everyone !
Damn the consequences.

@Ms. Ima
And what is the reason for this ?
We do need the truth here…I THINK that the government pensions are far too generous – far ahead of the stingy private sector benefits.
We need balance as well as the truth.

When people get back any interest, that’s a heinous violation of Aristotelian ethics, and must be stamped out. (Except for people buying big bonds, who are exempt.)
But people who pay into the entitlement programs get back (on average) all their money plus 5% interest, which is a crime. These programs are taxes, and it is a serious violation to return even the money taken, let alone any interest. Let’s just keep all those payroll taxes and put them where they’ll do much more good than treating elderly hypochondriacs: give every cent to Friends of the White House and the Capitol and the military to keep America safe.

I wonder how much the Pentagon budget could be reduced just by getting Congress to quit pushing pork down the military’s throat and making them buy things they don’t even want. Another place would be to get the military to quit changing specifications on an item after it’s in development or production. That really drives up the per unit cost. They should have those specs 98% solid when they put something out for bid.

Bring back the tax rates on the rich from the 1960’s.
Restore the estate tax on the rich.
Restore the Glass Steagall act, with sharp teeth.
Put wall street, the megabanks and the corporations
on short leashes and examine their books.
