   Wasn’t it the Heritage Foundation that some GOPers in the Senate recently quoted as “independent organization” when they presented some report or study? I always had my doubts about them, but now everything has become crystal-clear, so thank you Mr. DeMint, and lets hope you continue to enforce the purity of the party, because only purity can get you ahead, right?

   Right up until a Democrat implemented it?

    The Heritage Foundation is where the conservative idea of a health insurance mandate came from, as a private sector alternative to socialized medicine. Now that they’ve pretty much killed socialized medicine as an option, they call their own idea “socialized medicine.” One columnist referred to DeMint leading the Heritage Foundation as the perfect move for the first post-thought think tank.

    The Heritage Foundation is also where Justice Clarence Thomas’s wife has worked in her support of conservative issues. A report I just read to confirm this said she made over 650k over a five year period. Some of these issues were reviewed by SCOTUS and Justice Thomas has not recused himself from any of them, despite his wife being paid to defend them by Heritage.
    While the mission statement of HF is noble, and they have pursued issues upon which I agreed, in recent times they have become a lobbyist arm for some of the most conservative members of the Rep party.
    But if ends justify means, then Mr. DeMint has ‘won’ the game, and will recieve the paycheck to prove it.
