Hey, ANandy, keep that placard still if you want this week’s cheque from Dick Armey!

Thank you Sarah Palin–you made them take notice and they removed its wording. Of course being a Republican these crackpots from the left will continue calling you a ditz, but nothing but praise for do nothing Pelosi.

May I suggest that Mr Morin’s point here is that the real US «government-sponsored death panel» are working in places like Afghanistan and Iraq (and it is not only US soldiers whose cases are being reviewed by the panel, but mainly those of Afghanis and Iraqis)….

ANandy is “Death-Panel” wrong! There were no meetings of the Senate Finance committee of six last week when Grassley announced that. After Grassley’s distorted and narcissistic sense of self-importance, be assured that this is not over. Your own party’s congressman insisted that the “end-of-life” counseling be included in one HR bill. Now he says he is against it!! The GOP already made that mandatory for all of us in Medicare when they passed the Medicare Modernization Law of 2003. Isn’t it ironic that a GOP house member made proposal for all insured to receive this benefit in health reform? Then they make people like ANandy think this is all a secret plot for forced euthanasia. This gives ANandy a right to call our President BozOTUS??

NO WAY!! When ANandy stops the name calling, maybe his lies won’t ring so hollow.

Has everyone forgotten who sent the troops to Iraq? Has everyone forgotten that the National Guard was really intended to help Americans at home. When Katrina blew through, where were the troops? No where near the devastation, and no leadership in the White House.

Where is Osama Bin Laden? What is taking so long to catch him? Has everyone forgotten the Bush Bin Laden family connections?

I’d like Barrack Obama to wrap up these huge money pits, where real people are dying, as soon as possible. I want health care reform (and yes I do have health insurance).

Let’s make the profiteers in congress give up the “for profit” aspect in health care insurance. The costs are too high because so much of the money is going into the hands of those that really don’t need it. (Profits for the profiteers in case I wasn’t clear.)

Are you all so politically naive? The standard traditional way to attack a proposed program that you don’t like is to make up a lie about it and then have aroused citizenry rise up in indignation.

Remember privatizing social security? The Democrats said to those over 65 you will lose all your benefits. Since the proposed program had zero effect on everyone age 50 and above it was obvious the Democrats were lying and they knew it. But they succeeded, the elderly screamed at their Congressman just like today and the bill was defeated. All of you who condemn Palin did you condemn the Dems when they used the same general tactic?

    to cjr53…

You can rest today. Bush, back on Oct 14, 2004 said the following to a question…

Q But don’t you believe that the threat that bin Laden posed won’t truly be eliminated until he is found either dead or alive?

THE PRESIDENT: Well, as I say, we haven’t heard much from him. And I wouldn’t necessarily say he’s at the center of any command structure. And, again, I don’t know where he is. I – I’ll repeat what I said. I truly am not that concerned about him. I know he is on the run. I was concerned about him, when he had taken over a country. I was concerned about the fact that he was basically running Afghanistan and calling the shots for the Taliban.

But once we set out the policy and started executing the plan, he became – we shoved him out more and more on the margins. He has no place to train his al Qaeda killers anymore. And if we – excuse me for a minute – and if we find a training camp, we’ll take care of it. Either we will or our friends will. That’s one of the things – part of the new phase that’s becoming apparent to the American people is that we’re working closely with other governments to deny sanctuary, or training, or a place to hide, or a place to raise money.

And we’ve got more work to do. See, that’s the thing the American people have got to understand, that we’ve only been at this six months. This is going to be a long struggle. I keep saying that; I don’t know whether you all believe me or not. But time will show you that it’s going to take a long time to achieve this objective. And I can assure you, I am not going to blink. And I’m not going to get tired. Because I know what is at stake. And history has called us to action, and I am going to seize this moment for the good of the world, for peace in the world and for freedom.

twieliczka, thanks for that quote … it’s beneficial for all to go back (and in this case, not far back) and remember what our leaders have said.

GNW, privatizing Social Security was not for the benefit of the beneficiaries, rather it was for the benefit of the money managers and Wall St. masters of the universe … just imagine what they could do for themselves with all those retirement funds of the little people

I don’t want to repeat the debate here all over again. My point was to destroy it the Democrats did to it exactly what the Republicans did with death panels.

Just in from Yahoo. The public option may be dead!

RE: SS If I were 20 years old and given the option of joining into SS or not there is no question I would opt out.

Wachs the Republican intent is to destroy SS, and health care, period.

For andy and others: Obama started WW I, the Crimean War, wrote Mein Kampf AND Communist Manifesto, stabbed Caesar, and ran off with Cleopatra. He also crawled into a tent as an infant and told Usama bin Laden to launch jihad against America and western Europe, especially those cheesehead French.

If the extreme right made even ONE intelligent comment, we’d be more than willing to listen, and invite them to the table. All they’ve earned is dish scrapings in the alley.

ANandy, I just had this image. Poor ANandy, lying there in the hospital, with doctors trying everything possible to prolong his life - and agony. ANandy has a living will, but because ANandy and his lawyer weren’t smart enough to cover these circumstances, the doctors must keep on trying, even though they know it is hopeless.

Soon the expenses will absorb ANandy’s bank accounts, his insurance, his pension, his home, his childrens’ bank accounts, and their homes. But ANandy would still be praising Sarah Palin for stopping the non-existent death panels.

They are going to destroy SS? – best news I’ve heard all day – it’s a complete farce, or did you somehow get through school without having to take rudimentary math. It was stupid when they started it and it’s stupid today. Dimwits who started it couldn’t add past their fingers and toes. If I were running that kind of scam I’d be thrown in jail in all 50 states!
