Yep, get ready, if you think the process is slow now, wait till it passes. Go ahead and make your doctor’s appointments now, and they might get you in, in about ten years or so.

I just want to know where in that bill will it provide more and better qualified doctors? Where in the 1000 pages of who will pay for what and what over sight is granted to who, how will that put 1 more nurse in an emergency room?

I wonder what would happen if employers stopped subsidizing healthcare premiums for their employees and employees had to pay full share for themselves and their families?

if employers stopped “subsidizing” healthcare, there would be a glut of healthcare on the market. just like oil, healthcare - not to be confused with good health - is a commodity. but we all know that employers don’t “subsidize” healthcare out of the goodness of their hearts. they are mandated by the government to pay.

In this economy, employers could probably get away with eliminating Health Benefits, as people would be happy they still had a job. HB is just something employers use in lieu of salary. In times on low unemployment, incentives like HB, 401K match, on-site day care, employee cafeterias, etc are used to attract the most in-demand worker. In times of high unemployment, these benefits are unnecessary to attract workers.

Of course, the elite workers at the top tier of our workforce will always be in high demand no matter how high or low unemployment is, so will always get HB, stock options, etc.

I ran over a turtle driving down to Texas once; or would that be a “terrapin”? I was greatly saddened by his loss, although I had to laugh when he clunked up under my Dad’s Ford Fairmont. I distinctly remember his outstretched little head just before he went under, or rather, I went over him…
