    Government run health care in western europe is WAY cheaper than the american model. You don’t get the pre-existing-condition-bullshit when you get sick.

    Notice the qualifier there. 70% of insured Americans. A subset of the population that’s getting smaller every day.

    One dollar out of six of the US GNP goes to health care (Economist) almost double the other rich countries. If the government ran it could it be any worse than that?f If the French can cover their entire population for substantially less money per head than private enterprise in the USA are they that much smarter or better managers than Americans? Maybe the American medical and drug establishment is on a par with the finance, insurance and real estate bunch.

    I think I prefer the present system with government oversight over government run health care with congressional oversight.
