   “Un cochon dans un sac” (A pig in a bag) is an old expression old folks have up here. I didn’t know you had it in the States.

    Think here are several versions. My grandmother, born 1894 in North Louisiana, frequently used “pig in a tote”. It was used to express trusting a seller in a purchase of something unseen or untried.
