The Bank Secrecy Act requires banks to divulge large transactions to “the authorities”. The Clean Air Act loosened pollution controls. The Tax Simplification Act was amended to the Tax Reform Act when it went over 10,000 pages. Welcome to Newspeak.

Regardless of the model we use, health care is always going to become more expensive, if we do not experience a paradigm shift as a society.

We have to change our mindset from treating the sick to maintaining wellness. Sick people are not productive, and if the sickness is great enough, take money out of the system. Healthy people are productive, and spend their income improving the economy while paying taxes. Prevention is worth way more than cure, and cure may not always be an option.

This is not to say that sick people should not be treated. It is to say that if we took better care of ourselves, there would be far fewer sick people who would need less intensive intervention.

We cannot afford to do otherwise.

    Very hilarious come November!
Barry can’t even get his only project (BarryCare) to work right, yet he Is FUNDRAISING in LA.
Forget those “other minor problem” like Russia, Israel and the lowest family income since Carter in 1978.
Vote out the Democrat Senate in November before Barakk destroys the nation further!

Keep lying, Jerry. We’ll see if the majority that shows up to vote is really that stupid, or if stupid, gullible people are just the ones who comment online.

My parents’ grandfathered pre-ACA health insurance plan has a deductible of $250 per person. My ACA-era health insurance plan has a deductible of $3000.

    You were saying?

The fact is, there is a large number of people who are insured who either had no insurance or, due to preexisting conditions, unemployment, or other factors, did not have insurance. Even Republicans are recognizing the horse has left the barn on this and are trying to make Dems look bad for the various inadequacies of the ACA.
I have ALWAYS said the ACA is flawed and had the tribal enemies that are the D and R leaderships in the HoR and Senate worked with healthcare experts in their myriad committees, a much better, long term, bipartisan plan would have been made available to the American people.
As our elected oligarchy works for lobbyist and donors rather than the American people, it is the interests of those groups who are most observed and the ACA remains flawed.
Despite those flaws, it is still saving lives and is therefore better than what we had before it was passed.

A friend who never worked in the US (he left after school to work abroad) got cancer in a country with only primitive medical facilities, so he flew home to California. He’s not eligible for Medicare since he never paid into it, so the only way he could afford any treatment for his cancer was with the ACA.

But his Platinum HMO does not seem to have squandered much money on his treatment: instead of the expensive chemo, he got the bargain version and it doesn’t seem to have helped at all, so now they’re sending him to hospice since the HMO plan can’t do any more.

What utter nonsense. A private health insurance is what’s expensive

The ACA apparently is exceeding their initial goals and the cost of medical care seems to be going up at a slower pace. Clearly providing basic medical services can reduce the number of people who’s conditions become critical because of lack of basic care. The program is already looking like a winner but like any program could probably be improved.

Comparing just the deductible of your coverage to someone else’s gives us no clue about the cost, or the scope, of your coverage much less theirs.

You want to see expensive? Just wait until Obama dumps the millions of illegals that he wants to GIVE citizenship to and then liberals will see just how expensive the ACA gets. But then again I guess it still won’t bother them since it’s only the working conservatives that are paying the taxes that fund the program.

From the Start Obama told us it would cost 800 billion for his pet project. At the time a little known guy stood up and told Obama to his face that “your numbers do not add up” Unpack your numbers and you are looking at 2.3 TRILLION! Turns out Paul Ryan knew what he was talking about. Total cost so far, around 3 TRILLION.
Oh and the other thing we learned during that hearing, Obama to McCain “I won”

I wonder wich package he bought off the Billion dollar Obamacare medical site. The Tin plated plan, Pyrite plan or the Mommy Government takes it from the evil rich to pay off the poor pitiful poor for votes plan?

Spoken like a true liberal, You see government health care is not expensive because someone else pays for it. According to Obama that some one else should be the evil rich, when they pay for it everyone else gets it on the cheep.
