That was a reasonable analysis, as long as the Russian Federation under Putin does not try to take over the rest of the Ukraine. Which would evidently represent Cuba trying to take over the entire US as well as keep Florida.

In the Crimea, most people speak Russian. In Afghanistan and Iraq they all speak English and want to be our 51st and 52nd states, right??

In 1982 Argentina invaded the Falkland islands in an effort by the then current argentinian government to direct the attention of the public away from the social, economic and political problems that country was facing. today Russia and Puttin are doing the same thing. The ,again, social economic and political problems of Russia, although not well documented in the West, are crippling the country. Some months ago the homosexuals were the escape goats, today is Crimea. Will the economic sanction work in Russia, I doubt it, if they did we will never know since is Puttin who controls the media, and the corruption created by Puttin is so wide spread that it will make impossible to get a good idea what will actually work. I pity the Ukranians, but I pity even more the Russian.

“Escape goats”, I like that, ’tis funny.
If Russia is having economics problems, would it not stand to reason that sanctions will make things worse?
I think we should stay out of it. United States of American needs to keep its nose out of other countries business. USA needs to start taking care of its own problems.
