The news came out three days ago: the Royal Family doesn’t have enough money. The boiler in Buckingham Palace is 60 years old, and they can’t afford a new one.

Won’t you please help them? They are down to their last few millions.

They could get variable light timers to control that issue. Or are those devices much too expensive for the impoverished monarchy?

An unlikely exit to the post-colonial monarchy by correspondance that Canada is stuck with would be if after prince Charles becomes king Charles and then dies, UK sends us Harry to act as king of Canada alone. That’s how Norway found itself a king after getting its independence from Denmark. The baby brother of the king of Denmark, Carl, became king Haakon of Norway in 1905.

…it would be a good boost for the tabloid and tourism industry…
    ..

Naaah! When the current queen dies, Canada will become a republic.

I’m pretty sure Charles kissed his chance at the crown goodbye in exchange for marrying Camilla.

“It is also claimed the cost of the Royal family to the average British tax-payer is a loaf of bread annually. I’m just a humble British taxpayer, not a British citizen so my grumbling is rather limited, but I want that loaf to be the plainest, cheapest, meanest loaf on the market.”

I was obviously too mean. Raise the price of a loaf of bread.
