Is this supposed to be funny? Or topical?

Obama tried to put Republicans in his cabinet and the GOP blocked the move so they could damage the nation without having to take any of the blame. If you want a cartoon that faithfully depicts this, why not show Obama on the ark saying, “Hey! Will you please get on board?” while the GOP is setting dynamite under a dam.

Explain how spending less drives up the debt?

Obama will have to decide. The fat elephant who starts wars or the fat elephant who hands out corporate welfare.

Obama would not take any he wouldn’t know how to build the Ark.

@gresch: gladly!
cut military spending. the result, people who made weapons are put out of work. without those worker salaries and their corrosponding taxes going to the government, the debt goes up. These patriotic families that are an intregal part of the military industrial complex now don’t have money to spend on food/clothing/xmas presents. that impacts the economy which makes a viscious cycle of less jobs, less taxes collected, more debt.
make sense? do you understand now?

Lies? Wow you truely are an idiot. There are at least two Republicans on his cabinet that I know of. -Ray LaHood, Sec. of Transportation -Robert Gates, Sec. of Defense. Watch out who you call a liar when you have no clue!

Incorrect. I don’t remember his name, but a very respected Republican senator from either New Hampshire or Vermont was the first recipient of an offer for a cabinet office. I am pretty sure it had something to do with keeping the money. He resigned almost before he took the job, which he initially seemed enthusiastic about. His excuse was something like he would never be able to agree with Obama on his policies. I wonder if the R bosses told him that cooperation was not allowed. It seemed to start the dominoes falling.

No matter what changes, someone is going to lose a job. Even if we do nothing, same result, probably worse. Hey, we basically shut down NASA. Now there are aerospace engineers out of work. But the government saves money. Every decision has consequences.

I happen to be pro-military, but every Keynesian model I have ever seen shows that government spending collected from taxes is like friction to a healthy economy. I would agree that military spending returns value equal or greater to our investments,,. DEMs appear to only think about not going for the military cuts until it is about a factory or base in their district.

We spend more of our GDP on our military budget than any other country in the world. There are so many uses for that money that could actually help people BUT then there are people like you who measure the inches in thier pants by the size of our miliatry. I could care less if we can bully around small countries, How did that HUGE military budget help us in Iran and Aphganastan? We wrapped those wars up quick and easy didnt we?
