From the Great Liberator to Vampire Hunter, to GOP figure head?
How many folks have been to the Lincoln Memorial? Of those who have, how many read the writings on the walls and in the museum under the main platform?
How many have read any of the many biographies about this man? I do not believe Mr. Lincoln would approve of the political parties we have. I think the move to secede from the Union on behalf of some of our citizens would make him weep. I know a few republicans who feel Lincoln should have been impeached for even starting the war after South Carolina fired on Sumter. They feel South Carolina was simply repossessing what was theirs after secession, and Lincoln started the war between the states by responding to that attack.
The RNC is not the only group trying to rewrite history.
Quick side note, Texas tried to keep Thomas Jefferson out of their history books because he was not “Christian” enough. Forget his writing of the Constitution, his contributions to the Bill of Rights, or his presidency. He wasn’t a “Godly” man, therefore not worthy of being mentioned in history books.
This is not how to raise an educated people.
Respectfully,
C.

@Respectful Troll
And the democrats want to get the constitution out school because it is no politically correct. Liberals want to rewrite history not for accuracy but for political correctness. So get off your immoral high horse.

Where do you get this stuff? Liberals want the Ten Comandments out of schools, not the Constitution.

Clone? No way the GOP would do that. They’d lose the Falwell contingent.

Zoid, every time you tell one of these idiotic and unbelievable lies, it damages the conservative brand. It opens people’s eyes to the fact that your position on science, climatology, and economics are equally thinking-free. Just sayin’.

The GOP and dinosaurs are a good match except that they think dinosaurs were 6k years old and left off of the Ark.

@Mr. King
Nice, so much for your fact based arguments, heh gricks?
Zoid may be one of the less convincing of the right, but he no worse then some from left, the only probelm is the left won’t distance themselves from the very looney tunes in their party.

‘Not picking a fight nor openly taking sides in this little ’uncivil war’ of comics commentary…but BOTH parties have looney tunes an’ fringe elements a’plenty, an’ then some…And of course, they are the headline grabbers…the ones to which the party is linked by association and from which far too many people get their sole impression of the party as a whole. And, usually it’s the party in power that is vilified to the greatest extent.
‘Having said that, I don’t think either party has the gifted insight nor magical formula for correcting our nation’s multitude of troublesome issues and challenges. It’s a sad testament to the intractable natures of both parties that any measurable degree of cooperation for the common good is so elusive.
It would be refreshing as well as encouraging to see genuine cooperation in doing what is right and best for the country and We, The People instead of all the self-serving posturing and finger-pointing that only furthers the argument – not the solution. Both ‘sides’ are so self-absorbed with minutia that the bigger picture of saving our nation from economic ruin is out of focus, and we are, literally, at the eleventh hour and the “two-minute” warning…the time for posturing, pandering, and putting off the inevitable is over – the “inevitable” is now here…It’s about time our bloated and bloviating government got off its collective @$$ and did something for the good of America, rather than just good for themselves.

“Mid-Term elections are less that 2 years away……What happen then?? GOP took the house and almost the Senate….”
Translation: “Although they lost seats, the GOP kept the House, and did not lose enough seats in the Senate to make it filibuster-proof for the Democrats.”
But as you say, “What will happen in two years?” Stay the course, guys, stay the course!

Here, here! Joe Cool, your declaration that begins with “It’s a sad testament…” is an astute a thought as I have had the pleasure to read lately!
(Clever intro to your post, also.)
Thanks for being so very relevant, that truly is cool…

@D PB
LOL Did you watch the Republican primaries? Obviously not..
Robert Landers said, 6 months ago
@onguard
In actuality the Republicans lost seats in the House (although not enough to lose control of that hamstrung governmental body), and even lost seats in the Senate.
Or did you not actually view the election results? And if they continue to be the party of no and drive this nation over the fiscal cliff, there is always 2014 when they will lose ALL control!!
