    Yes, pointing out that the only tangible budget cut Mitt has suggested is ridiculous and wouldn’t help is just plain wrong.

    We can’t get hung up on specific proposals when there is so much sloganeering and posturing to be done!

    Right with over 120 million in merchandizing and two donation drives every year PBS is in real danger.

    I’m certain that the only bird Obama will be able to save is the one in my avatar, the ceremonial Thanksgiving turkey.

    I’ll have to find the link, but a rep from CTW has noted that Sesame Street has been self-sustaining for some time due to license fees, royalties, and corporate donations. As such, they’d much rather people quit bringing the show up in debates about funding for PBS.

    It’a all Obama has got left in the bag since he can’t run on his dismal record and his attack adds against Gov Romney are wearing thin; Big Bird is all he’s got left!

    And this just proves you did not listen. In that exchange between the two candidates, Mitt said that in order to reduce the tax “rate” it would be necessary to close loopholes – that mostly benefit the wealthy – and reduce programs and subsidies including such things as oil and farm and yes PBS. It’s ALL on the table.

    So tell me, what are the specifics in Obama’s plan?

    You’d rather give money to corporate farms to keep fields idle, in other words to NOT produce anything. You’d rather give special tax treatment to big oil and gas companies who screw us daily at the pump. Yeah you don’t have a problem with giving OUR money to your favored entities who truly do not improve society, but you wish to cut funding for early childhood education, TRUTH in reporting, oh I got it right there. There can’t be anything but right-wing spin in “news” because the truth is not kind to your party masters.
    .
    Bottom line is subsidies to PBS, CTW, NPR whatever alphabet soup you care to use amount to .0012% of the budget and won’t even impact the budget one tiny little bit but you want to cut it because it doesn’t further your party’s propaganda. But billions go to reDUMBlican pet causes that do NOT benefit society, like I pointed out farm subsidies for NOT producing, special tax treatment of the oil and gas industry, no bid contracts for military sub-contractors, advanced payment for weapons research before we over-pay for the weapons we paid to develop, pork barrel sweetheart contracts to military suppliers for unneeded, unused and just plain overpriced items.
    .
    Get a grip and when you want to return to society and work for the betterment of ALL, not just yourself and your self-interested friends, then maybe we will consider your ideas.

    You talk like a Democrat hasn’t been President for the past 4 years, or 12 of the past 20 years.

    Say, so long as we’re dictating what our tax dollars benefit, how do I get my money out of the “blow up innocent brown people for fun and profit” department?

    @Mr. King

    You need to review the tapes. During their exchange he said that the oil subsidies would be on the table to achieve his goal. But you see all of the things are “on the table” nothing is slated to be cut until the two groups can sit down and plan a budget. Something Obama and his plan does not include.
