For the main body of both parties, ’toon is way too accurate! The sad part, proven by bloggers, especially on the rush, ’er “right” is that the public is worse.
Substantive note on that: My son’s back in college after the military. He was talking to a long-time professor and the subject of “student quality” came up. The observation by the professor was that STUDENT qualities of commitment, “work ethic”, and INTELLIGENCE, had declined dramatically over the last 30 years. The teaching community has faced serious problems from students who feel they shouldn’t have to work, or think, and are owed grades and titles.
These are NOT the “economically challenged” students, but rather, the ones born with silver spoons, who live in the “no new taxes” and “taxed enough already” crowd, who don’t want to PAY for what they’re getting.
But even sadder than that, is the “intellect” component of a generation born alive, but raised to be brain dead. Students capable of critical thinking, are almost as rare as passenger pigeons.
