    When he finally comes down, how many pieces of him will be left?

    @Ketira shena Pretarasedrin

    Will it really matter to either side? Me thinks, not!

    At the GOP convention they will acknowledge the genius of Newt and hand him the nomination. Or so his little republican fantasy goes…

    Lizard like as I think Newt is, the fact is that he wasn’t losing to Romney, he was losing to Santorum. Those two split the “Conservative” vote that was dead set against Romney.
    .
    Now the “Conservative” vote is going to stay home in that they feel that Romney has won it anyway and their vote doesn’t matter anymore so why bother?
    .
    They’re right, of course, and Newt couldn’t turn a ten year old to chocolate bars, he’s so bad a motivating. But, I find it sort of unproductive to write Newt off.

    No we know better then that. I wanted Santorum myself, now that we have Romney I will vote for him.

    As for Newt, he will continue to be involved and will have some say in the dialog. He has been an insider to long has to many contacts.

    Newt was only in this for the money. Word is he has $5 million in the bank. Get ready for the next stream of books, declaring Newt’s an expert in everything from history to space flight.

    Mitt is IT. There is not other candidate worth looking at. On either side.

    @OnTarget

    Well, if there is “excitement’ for Mitt, it doesn’t show in the primary nums.
    .
    RealClearPolitics vote tallies (this is the last time I’m trying to link thisif it doesn’t come then just go to www.Realclearpolitics.com))
    .
    In NY there was a voter turnout of about 165,000! (2.8MM Registered Repubs < 6% turnout!)
    .
    In RI less than 15,000
    .
    In DE 29,000
    .
    In PA call it 800,000 (3.06MM Registered Repubs = 26% turnout 58% voted for Mitt as he essentially ran unopposed! 28% went out of their way to vote against Mitt, the rest voted for Ron Paul)
    .
    In CT less than 60,000
    .
    In all states except RI at least 20% of the voters voted against Mitt! (and again, those don’t include the Ron Paul numbers).
    .
    Yeah, Mitt’s it all right!

    Poor Newt. Even for a Republican, he’s pretty delusional.
